I’d give them a second shot, but the problem is, the prizes aren’t worth the time spent, if you ask me.
Fuck the prizes, I just want to get some casuals in. If you guys can give me a text with an estimate of how many people are gonna be there or just text me when you’re there and tell me how many there are at the time, I’ll try to come out with my 360 and friend(s) with sticks and marvel and AE 2012. As long as there is a PS3 because I can’t play with that Xbox controller and I’m more of a pad player. I can bring my own controller and copy of AE if need be.

I know the prizes (store credit) suck but we didn’t really ever get big enough turn outs for decent sized cash prizes. I’m really just pleased to have a place to meet up to get some games in.
And yes, the stuff I’d bring would be all PS3 stuff. Seth’s would also be providing a PS3 for us to use.

Yeah, more than likely, I’m not going. Giants are in it to win it. And I’ll more-than-likely be drunk throughout the whole entire thing.
However, in the near future, we definitely should get something going, again. The only issues I’ve really had with Seth’s were the lack of space due to sharing time with the table-top games (although, for learning’s sake, we should all play Yomi) and, again, lack of prizes. Now, if we’re just going for casuals, it’s fine, but unless we have reign on the space, it’s a bit more complex to do, since from what I remember, it usually ends up being two setups nearby that counter and then one in the corner, which, in my mind, isn’t as conducive for everyone to learn and adapt in.
I absolutely agree. I think they wanted to do it Sundays because there’s no other events going on, so it wouldn’t be cramped in their like in the past. I’m going to ask.
If we try it out again and it isn’t very good, let’s just shoot for somewhere else. I was briefly looking around but couldn’t find too many places that didn’t charge a ton of money or offer crap prizes (that new place in the mall comes to mind).
Do you know of any places that might be possible to set something up in?
P.S. Kevin from Seth’s said they are still doing it on the fifth despite the Super Bowl. So we will see who is going to be down.
Well, that counts me out. Super Bowl comes first. Gotta cheer my team on. As for other places, I’ve no clue. Honestly, we may just be relegated to friends’ places.
Right on man, they are attempting to make it a weekly thing so there will be more.
If I still lived with my parents I would of had people over all the time to play.
A friend of mine says he may be able to host some type of gathering on a somewhat frequent basis here in Oxnard. We’ll see what happens…
