I ordered my stick a few weeks ago with the plan to mod it, it’s like the 3rd stick I’ve had but it will be the first 1 I actually mod. All my parts are here now so I will attempt it today. A quick question though, I ordered my stick from GAME (UK retailer) when it turned up it came with some custom Goro art from MK X but I need to install it myself. Just wondered if this will be an easy process? Did anyone else get this art too? Also for any people wondering about the cable I ordered mine off eBay, had to wait a week or so as it came from China but was relatively cheap and you get 5 pieces. I will post a pic after completion if anyone is interested.

I got mine from game on Tuesday, didn’t get any extra art! It will be easy to replace, once you have unscrewed the stick and taken off the buttons just push the plexi off from the back of the stick. Good luck!
How do I post pics from my phone on here? I finished doing the mod. The art work game sent free is not that great as you you will see they made the cutouts a lot bigger than they had to be hence the white rings around the buttons. But the female to female cable I ordered off eBay works a treat and only cost me like £5-6 (can’t remember)

There is a mayflash v2 template in the forums its the pretty much the same, I’ve been using it to make an art cover and compared the templates. The plexi comes off just as Keeplit said, nice and easy. When I replace the art I’ll post my mod stick.
What software are you using to make your art covers?? I also got in touch with the guys at venom and they sent me the template with the missing button. I then told them about the missing button and they sent me the correct template.
I use gimp because it’s free, but ps is much better
I use Photoshop, tho I am not a pro at all. A free alternative to that would be GIMP.
You can use Photoshop CS2 for free (since Adobe turned off the activation servers).

Well, depends on what you’re looking to mod. If all you want is a button upgrade you can just buy the buttons, sanwa or seimitsu, of your choice. It’s a drop in replacement for the stock ones. If you want to save money you can also just buy 8 sanwa microswitches, it will get you pretty close for cheap. However, if you want to replace the lever, and you don’t want to solder, then you need to get the female-female cable mentionned in the thread.
There isn’t an absolute mod, go with what you are comfortable. Although many ppl love to do a full sanwa swap, there are tons of things that you can do to make the stick your own.

It must be just 3rd party sellers that ship outside their region and not Amazon it self.
Dont buy it at amazon.de and do the same mistake as me, it costs 20 bucks more there. I live in Germany tho, so the shipping didnt took too long at least.

So ehhh… this has prolly been repeated 27 times already but i’m kinda lost so. What joystick is the best for this? Like, to avoid any sort of soldering, as in, get the fem cable thing and plug it in, or whatever. I’m kinda lost. Basically, i just wanna know what is the best Joystick to get for this(as in quality and easiest to install) and how to do it blah blah blah. I have never modded a stick before btw
