Venom arcade stick PS4/PS3

NO, the Venom stick is not compatible with any of the Xbox consoles.
There is a similar stick, the V2 Mayflash, same Body/Shell that is PS3 and Xbox 360 compatible (but not PS4).

Also the Venom stick is apparently a licensed product, Sony would never sign off on a controller that works on the PS4 and Xbox One (same with Microsoft).

Hey guys, just got one of these puppies and am modding it out with Sanwa stuff. I took the JLF+cable out of an old Q4raf I had - when I connect it I have directions registering the wrong way and its only one or two directions that will register at all… any ideas what I can do here? I guess I just assume I could use the same cable and stick with the new PCB but I may be wrong?

I tried all 4 configurations for the cable and I know the old stick was completely functional and I made sure the new one worked properly as well before i took anything apart.

Disregard this, I had to change the position of all 4 non-ground wires but I got it going!

Although now my select button doesn’t work - all the other buttons on the panel do. Not sure what the deal is there

Hey guys, so I just finished Sanwa modding my stick and for some reason the stick is only registering the up position? I used that plug and play female to female cable (i can’t remember what it’s called) like the tutorials have suggested and am pretty sure I’ve followed everything correctly, but it’s only registering the up position. Any help you could offer? Thank you!

EDIT: I tried the stock stick and that seems to work fine, my Sanwa stick is brand new from arcade world UK and it’s a JLF 8YT or whatever its called.

Not sure what it could be :frowning:

Make sure the 5pin is all the way in on the prongs. If it’s not that could explain it. Otherwise, test your microswitches on a different pcb if you can.

I’ve pushed the 5 pin in as far as it will go but it still won’t work. I haven’t got another PCB to try it with :frowning:

Flip the 5 pin harness over.

Is it one of those ribbon cables? Then do what president said. Cause if it’s the wrong way around only half of the inputs work and they won’t be the correct inputs, e.g. Left may be up etc

Lol oh man, I feel so stupid. The harness end going into the stick was the wrong way even though it fit perfectly, at least I thought.

Thank you for the help! Will post up pics shortly

Should’ve checked out my guide ;), just kidding. Glad you got it working

Lol I promise I read your guide numerous times! I clearly didn’t read it very well though :frowning:

here is the finished product though! Full sanwa mod, may change the artwork for the MGS one. Only downside is, both prints came out kinda dark, so the fighters in the background of the Ippo picture are quite faint/difficult to see, even in light.

Just as a heads up, if you ever decide to put a Seimitsu lever in there you will want to flip the harness the opposite way.

Much appreciated, brother! Thank you.

Added a strap handle to my stick that I bought off eBay, will make the stick easier to lug around tournaments and stuff now.

There are also button hole plugs if you want to cover those two rightmost holes with something

after having a some time on the stick, I think I am comfortable enough with it to want to stick with it. So that means its time to upgrade some of the pieces. I am going with Laura artwork, so yellow and green buttons with a black knob, it looks good in my head but we will see how it turns out.

*but Birdies and black and gold could be just as dope… hmmmm
