Venom arcade stick PS4/PS3

Well I live in the US, but not all our forum members.
We got people here from all around the globe.

No US retailers for this?

If you read some of the earlier post we already covered this, this is primarily sold in select countries in Europe.
The closest thing we (us Americans) got to the venom stick in the US is the Mayflash v2 which as a completely different PCB and does not support the PS4.

Yeah, I completely read the thread trying to see if there was some US retailer. All I could see was people were ordering from Spain’s Amazon site and doing international shipping, was hoping I missed something since i’d rather not deal with conversion rates and ordering from a website in another language. ( I know I can use translate, but still)

You know, just occured to me this doesn’t cover 5 pin female to female…

Anyone one have a pic of correct orientation using 5 pin female to female in with a Siemitsu?

Every board is different. If you have the existing joystick wiring and a multimeter you could probe the connector and see how it maps out

Dont have one. Maybe I should learn : /

I can just trial and error though, yeah? Only 4 combinations of plug orientations…

Is Amazon Spain the cheapest place to order this if you’re in the US?

I don’t know a cheaper place to order from

Conversation rate is good but shipping is bananas. Guess I’ll go the route of pad hacking.

You could get it off the UK’s site. It’s currently listed as 69 GBP (… and apparently, no VAT if you buy from the USA, so I got charged something like 58 GBP)

Shipping was ~6 GBP for me. $102 roughly at the time of purchase.

I don’t have my artwork ready yet, if I take the sanwa buttons and plug them in and take them out and in again to get the artwork on, will the clips of the buttons get more slack/worse? I read something about them losing their stiffness after a while

Hi folk,

I just aquired a Venom Fightstick. As a new fightstick user I’m having trouble with the joystick: When I move all the way down, then back, I sometimes do not get a defensive crouch (=down-back). You can hear that only one of the microswitches registers.

My question: Is the stick bad, or is it my execution? Would upgrading to a Sanwa/Seimitsu joystick solve that problem? I’m ultimately planning to mod the stick anyway, but I’d rather save my bucks right now.

I’d say it definitely sounds like the stick is faulty. The stock stick may not be complete crap, but it’s not of particularly good quality either.

Yes. And they would have a better feel as well.

Thanks, then I’m off ordering the parts. I hear the JLF is the standard, so I’ll go with that. Unfortunatly I don’t know people near me with a stick so I could try out different joysticks.

From my experience, it sounds like you may just be adjusting to the square gate. If that corner is a big issue for you, the JLF won’t make that better. The LS-32, while still square, has a slightly different feel in the corners which i found to be helpful when trying to learn square gate.

Also if you are new to sticks in general you skill level takes a dive until you can acclimatize to the new control scheme.
Only way to do that is to practice.

I just modded mine, first time user and first time modder. I’ll post a total noob guide shortly.

Hi all, I’ve just made this newbie guide, I hope it helps!

I tested my friend’s venom. It’s my joystick. I don’t have that problem on his stick. I guess mine’s just broken. I tried contacting Venom support but haven’t heard anything yet. I’ll wait until I hear from them before disassembling the stick. I wouldn’t really know where to look for the error anyway. Maybe one of the microswitches is loose? Is that possible?

When I go left, down-left, I consistently get down-left. If I go down, down-left, then I often only get a down direction. You can’t hear the second (left) microswitch activating.
