1.) reversals are really hard to do
2.) reversals are really good in this game (so akuma, throw loops, etc don’t own your soul)

And in regards to what our next side tourney should be, i don’t see why we just can’t make a schedule at this point for the rest of the games at evo that people in vegas want to play.

wash, rinse, and repeat. it seems simple enough. i’d offer to run the hdr tournament everytime it comes up. w3s ran 3s last time. all we’s need is dedicated people willing to run the other two tournaments; although i see a problem with marvel (i assume it’ll be on dreamcast but does everyone have converters?)

I noticed last night that often times after a match was over, people were getting stuck on the Rematch/Character change screen and it was delaying matches. This is usually due to people unplugging their arcade sticks after their match is over. There’s a simple solution: when you’re done with your match, go to QUIT before you unplug your arcade stick/controller/etc. When you’re at the menu screen back up once more to the main menu (where it says PRESS START). Now anything plugged in can press start and that’ll make them Player 1.
Just a thought to make things a bit more efficient.

Too much of the delay was people switching the channels then the next guy taking 10+ minutes finding the right channel. I agree with this since it will be the fastest way to get through this. Although Big Gee did say that once he made it strictly PS3, this week’s matches went much faster.
I’m gonna have to agree and say next week should be GGAC. Just considering that some GGAC players that just wanted to play casuals last week never got the chance to. I don’t mind waiting one more week before 3s again. I really don’t play GGAC at all, but am willing to help with running it. We really only need a copy of the game and people to bring PS2 sticks and we will be set.

edit: in addition, sf4 (if you haven’t realized yet) is a near-exact, superior replica of ST/HDR with minor differences in gameplay. it’s lasted this long and HDR will last because of its online capabilities but ST is dead. HDR will be dead in a matter of time.

oh and about “reversals.” what about every other game that has infinitely harder “reversals” to do? this is beating a dead horse but unless your definition of reversals differs from mine, i doubt ST or HDR has harder reversals than the likes of 3s, cvs2, or mvc2.

Man sf4 is superior to nothing. If anything, playing that game makes you a worse Street Fighter player cuz of all the bad habits that develop to get you out of trouble in this game. sf4 is superior to ST and HDR in gimmicks and enjoyability i won’t delve into frames or anything extremely advanced that i won’t be able to defend myself in, but i’ll say this much: from what i’ve seen and played, ST and HDR are not games that interest me. they are good games in the sense that they are the foundation of the aforementioned cvs2 and 3s, but when you watch the games (ST/HDR), there is nothing interesting about them. of course you will pick up bad habits from sf4 because sf4 is a just a weirder game (with things i cant get used to i.e. jumping angles, sagat’s s.lk’s range > the rest of his normals). i should probably retract my statement comparing sf4 and ST/HDR, so i will.
dont get me wrong, sf4 is a terrible game that features too many gimicks and quirks that make the game extremely, extremely user friendly. i’d probably still jerk off to arcana heart combo videos before i find sf4 good as well. regardless, ST and HDR aren’t any better.

SF4 is very related to ST. We all know this. Oh and reversals ARE harder to do in ST. This is a well known fact. I think ST and Alpha 2 have the most strict timing for reversals.
HHZ is very anxious right now because I read him “Where the Wild Things Are” and he got scared. I had to hide the book in the closet and leave the night light on.
CvS2 is a bad reference.
