I’m still baffled by the game engine in general but the game looks better everytime I see it and now since the FC x CapCom and recently the WNF I may actually get it. I hope people don’t hop on the Vega bandwagon because he does look really strong in this game. I’ll probably pair him with my Tekken main Hworang, although not much footage of him around and I was horrible in Tekken.
But, watching Vega videos it looks like his forward dash is still pretty bad, how is his mobility in this game? His walk speed looks pretty much the same though. I’m a big fan of CH in SF4, but now it doesn’t hit crouching characters concerns me a bit. I’m happy he’s getting actual anti-airs this time around. I think the best combination is with a high damage character (grappler) since it looks like confirming from footsies is going to be pretty easy to do and also gdlk.
vega (and rolento) will definitely see A LOT of play…online, casual, and tournament, so i wouldn’t hold my breath expecting him to be a niche character. those two definitely seem like undeniable candidates as far as some of the strongest cast members go.
I’m crossing my fingers that he is derpy so I can use him; I’m dropping my SFIV main Chun Li for SFxT, and I’m excited to finally be able to use a hawt character.
New to shoryuken
I am so happy Vegas there in streets takken I started playing again
Hope to make new training partners that’s why I joined psn Locobro
Ugh well hopefully I’ll be one of the few Vega/Juri team players since so many are already switching to vega before even knowing if hes high tier yet. If he has to be top I hope he is C.Viper top and not Wesker top tier so we can see who the pussies and the posers are.
But that’s just so I can laugh at the people that actually find vega to be to hard which is silly. I never got why a character being popular is a problem to me, the only reason I hope he isn’t a scrubby character is because I hate mirror matches with a passion.
Some thing tells me Alex won’t show until SF5 but I wish he was DLC so I could pair him with vega so bad it hurts.
Lawl see my sig
I happen to main those 2 in SF4 so its different, but that team is already looking like its gonna be popular coz its “cool looking psychos”…
I’ve mained Vega since SF2 and Juri as soon as super came out so I feel ya but I doubt they will be a popular team because Juri wasn’t all that popular in SSf4 and I doubt scrubs will pick her when Hugo has easy combos and big damage.
Plus she won’t be a autowin like others characters so I don’t see it personally. I think Kaz and Juri are more likely to be the scrub fav Juri team because they both have magic eyes or whatever.
Oh well…at least I’ll have you to bounce teams set-ups off of and whatnot.
Yeah, Vega is MY character, NOBODY should play them except ME and maybe people with Vega avatars. EVERYONE ELSE is a BANDWAGONER.
seriously, most characters in this game a re really good and really quite easy to pick up. Also in my opinion Juri is THE easiest non-shoto and is arguably the best in the game. closest thing to an autowin., jump around and press buttons, safe EX reversal that cant be crossed up, safe pressure, safe combos, great mobilitu, fastest jump and movement in the game. Heihachi, Rolento, Vega, Law, Ryu and quite a few others have legitimate claims to top tier… but then who doesn’t? Kuma, Marduk and Paul look pretty weak, but even then they can be good.
If Juri was that easy to play and win with you would see more of her but you don’t. I still think she won’t be top 8 in this game maybe top 10 if she’s lucky but Hugo,Ryu and Ken all seem to have safer moves and are way easier to play imo. WHen has Juri been an autowin ever? Your going to have to put in work to be decent with juri and not get punished to death by small combos that take 40% of her terrible health.
Once again I don’t agree with the whole hate on new Vega players thing going on it’s silly but as someone who has also like many here stuck with Vega through some tough times it can be annoying to see some dorks come in and derp their way into our thread harping on how they JUST NOW realize how they love Vega and “always” wanted to play him all the sudden but he was too hard or some garbage.
If some dont like bandwagoners that’s fine and totally natural imo, but you sound silly naming top 10 this early and talking in absolutes when Juri could still end up garbage and Vega could not be as great as he first appears.
It’s one thing to be new to fighting games and be drawn in by SFxT and just happen to main Vega. It’s another thing to be a bandwagoner and keep quiet about it…
But when people come in to the thread and write shit like, " I hope Vega’s derpy over-powered, then I will use him" it’s pathetic. It’s blatant, weak and shows you’re probably the kind of person who likes a different sports team every year, and would probably still use training wheels on a bike if it wasn’t such a social stigma.
I guarentee half the people like this (^my previous paragraph^) on this thread still have Yun’s pubic hair on them from being on his nuts so much in SF4. Soooo transparent. If you’re a new member, welcome! If you wanna start maining Vega in SFxT, welcome! If you suddenly like the idea of maining Vega because you hear he’s derpy overpowered, die in a fire, slowly.
And this is me talking. Nobody else. Not the ‘Vega community’ or ‘Vega players’, just me. Clarifying so people don’t start going around saying Vega players are sour, crabby assholes. No, no, that’s just me. I’m the asshole. Some Vega players actually love the thought of the cock-roach like bandwagoners scattering toward Vega; it means he’ll be more likely to win tournaments. To each his own. I only hope I can face each and every one of you bandwagoners in a mirror match one day, to show you what it is to main a character throughout an entire series. You’ll never want to touch Vega again. Now, without further adieu, please, flame me 'til your fingers cramp.
I hope your not accusing me of being a fake Vega player because that would be hilarious because I was crying for Vega to be in this game before they even annouced Sagat and Dhalsim you can search through the OG SFxT thread if ya want I don’t care.
Also I never played Yun either so I really hope that wasn’t at me or your way off base. I was trying to look at both sides of the argument in that I never what to discourage players from joining but I myself have at least some disgust from people trying to hop on the Vega wagon if he’s good but even I have to admit to myself that it’s a little silly to get irritated over something so trivial.
That’s just how I feel. Both sides are a little wrong and I not gonna defend or condemn any new Vega bandwagoners.
Lol no dude none of that was directed toward you at all.
Go and read through a few posts on previous pages and it’ll become obvious who I’m talking about. The people who blatantly admit they’re picking up Vega soley for the fact they’ve heard he might be OP in this game. Them. Fuck them.
And I’ll be the first to admit this is trivial. I am fully aware that bashing on bandwagoners might seem doughebagy to some people and it is indeed a little childish on my part to do so. But I don’t care. I’ve got an extreme case of character loyalty and I’ve had it since I was seven. In fact, I would describe myself as a Vega fan, not a Street Fighter fan. So yeah, people might say,“who cares if bandwagoners use Vega?” but to me it’s more than that. They’re tarnishing art as far as I’m concerned. I realize it doesn’t go that deep for the majority of players but that’s how I see it.
And just to clarify again I don’t hate new members who will main Vega in SFxT or people who switched to Vega in SFxT. I just hate those who openly admit they are going to main Vega because he looks like he’ll be top tier in SFxT…aka bandwagoners.
Thought I’d point out the more players you have the more tech you get. My sf4 main only had safe jumps publicized like 6 months ago. While he’s not in this game, vega and juri are and they were some of my lengthy dalliances before I found my main. So naturally I’m giving them first shot here despite looking like I might play others long term.
It’s a bit silly to claim a main before playing the game IMO, unless you’re a die hard specialist. Maybe playstyle won’t match up to expectations afterall? However if it’s aesthetics or tradition sure I guess.
Point I’m trying to make is it’s goofy to hate on bandwagoners because nobody has committed yet, especially not these players. And even if he does become overplayed, there are positives to be had.
In fact, I’d say a lot of the people in the actual Vega forums are die-hard Vegas as well. We squabble a lot amongst ourselves, but I think we have a dedicated group. Though I’d say most of them are much more calm and collected then myself. They’re not over here bashing wagoners like I am.
I’ve stuck with Vega through all the SF4 iterations, I’m super excited to see that he has such awesome potential in this game.
First team I’m going to try is either Vega/Raven or Vega/Ogre. Vega’s RCF tag out thing looks GODLIKE, he stays on the screen for ages. I’m thinking it’ll give Raven enough time to do a teleport overhead/low while the opponent is still in block stun. We’ll see if it works at all, either way I’m super hype for SFxT and especially Vega!
See I’m cool with that. You stated your case clearly and its all good. Aimed more at others that see a vid or hear about a combo or whatever and say something like “main4lyfe” without knowing how to do a key special move. Then again I guess that’s what you consider bandwagoners so uh yeah, I’m going in circles…
