That post is going into history :'D
Haaaaaaa hahahahaha

Anyone here notice that you can juggle with anything after a EX FBA trade that knocks you down? I was just playing with a friend online and traded EX FBA with Ryu’s sweep. I got instantly knocked down, he got popped up high into the air as usual, but I was then able to get up and sweep him on the way down.
We tried it a few more times and I was able to trade EX FBA with Ryu’s sweep and then ultra him on the way down. Kind of reminds me of the updated U1 in Super… except I gotta take damage to pull it off and trade with a move that causes immediate knockdown.
For clarity, I’m talking about Vanilla here.

yeah its interesting, but it isnt really worth the risk and it isnt something that can be confirmed or anything.
EX-FBA Trade > U2 would be legendary.
It’s most likely possible, you can land a cr RH slide after EX FBA trade.
can you cancel slide into U2?
c.mk, c.mp to EX FBA
Is this even possible? Every time i try to do it i just zoom right over his head. (or through him, really)
Double
Who? Works on lugs like Sagat for sure, would whiff on a Ryu though. Though, this is fixed in SSF4? Just use c.mk c.lp xx exFBA til then.
I tried it out today, with my friend playing Sagat and in fact he was able to punish me.
Basically means there’s not much you can do with the backdash if you’re in the corner, other than hoping for the opponent to mess up his timing.
I’m not sure about those other fancy options though. Sliding seems to work, but may be dependent of spacing. Using st.rh to beat out jabs/lks only works if the opponent uses a normal with long startup after the TK and/or doesn’t perfectly space the TK.
Alright, could have sworn i saw this done on a dan in training a while back.
Another thing, What is this I hear about the wakeup loop from the ground Izuna Drop? Any threads informing me how that works?
@sasaki- I am sure that in SSF4, that Vega will actually have some options. I will wait till then and see what I get.
Another thing, What is this I hear about the wakeup loop using the Izuna Drop off the ground? Any threads informing me how that works?
I don’t know if there is, but when I get my hands on Super for a while I may write up stuff about what it is, how it works, how effective it is, so yeah, but if you want the basic version, then here you go:
-
You knock someone down. Preferrably with an Izuna drop, as in Ex FBA -> izuna drop.
-
You do an FBA while opponent is on the ground.
-
Upon wakeup the opponent should guess which way to go, or rather which move to use, to avoid your Izuna drop.
-
You Izuna drop them for guessing wrong.
-
Repeat steps 2-4.
Interesting. Cant a shoto character just srk you out of it though?
Further up on this page I said you can land a slide after an EX FBA trade. I think that’s incorrect info actually, I tried it today and it whiffed. Maybe I just didnt time it right today, but I might have been thinking about an EX ST trade instead when I posted that. (EDIT - NVM you CAN land a slide after EX FBA trade.)
Lots of SRK’s can be grabbed by Izuna if you position it correctly. The idea is to confusingly switch up sides above the player as you come down, so that the srk will either whiff completely on the wrong side, or you will be able to grab it from behind as it starts up. Timing is tight and there is risk involved, but it’s especially effective on Sagat.
its effective on Sagat coz of his huge hitbox and coz TU hits on frame 5, Shotos however have a smaller hitbox and SRK hits at frame 3 so its much harder.
Has anyone been able to getting the loop done in Super? the lk dive is the perfect height but its SLOWER than Hk dive so by the time i try to izuna vortex theyre already standing and ready to deliver the pain
Actually my first thought about RH sweep after EX FBA trade was correct afterall, I just did it in a match today. So I would think Splendid Caw should connect as well after the trade. In fact maybe I’m imagining things but didn’t someone confirm that recently?
