Vega Q&A: Ask simple questions here!

Thanks guys! I can somewhat do it consistently now. I much rather go for the Izuna drop though, but it’s still a good thing to know

Just so we’re all clear, I don’t want any of you hitting on Tatsu when you come to evo.

Oh, you think I’m joking? Peep game

That is one of the hottest chicks I’ve ever seen. >_>
Unfortunately I won’t be at evo.

Hey bebop, how did your vega do against arturo’s sim?

I saw that match where Ken FBd you and you did Ultra. That was so unexpected :'D Really nice!

Arturo whooped on me. I think, when I was sober, I beat him once out of like 4-5 games. He really helped me to see that I didn’t know that match-up very well. There are lots of Sim tricks that he was hitting me with, but over the course of the night, I adapted. The one win I got came a few games down the road. He’s solid.

What are Vega’s overhead moves? Which ones will connect through a low-block besides jump-in attacks? Does he have any?

Vega? Overheads?? Dwahahaha
The only “overhead” he has is jb.HP, and that won’t connect on some people while they’re crouching, i think.

That’s what I thought… :crybaby:

Well air dives are an overhead i guess:wink:

What is Vegas best normal to stuff jump ins?

It all depends on the spacing. Vega has a number of answers to jump-ins, but no one solution. But his best normal would probably be standing roundhouse.

Jumping Roundhouse is also great for when they are jumping in deep, but you have to start your jump before they start heading down.

I’m used to playing Sakura and her c.hp is great at almost any distance. Just wanted to know if Vega had a go-to move against jump ins.

Nope. Gotta really learn to deal with jump-ins if you wanna play Vega. He has no ‘easy’ counter.

Neutral jump RH
jump-back FP
FA-backdash/forward
sliding under jump-ins
jump forward/neutral air-throw
occasionally dash-back and cr.mp/cr.fp
Scarlet Terror and EX ST are decent, but have horrible priority, it works best if you catch them on the way up.

I wish Vega had Sak’s cr.HP

Alright, thanks man.

does anyone have any decent combos that involve the lk version of the ST that they use consistently?..it always seems im outa range when i go for it

nothing too reliable besides lk ST, EX ST
and dfHK, lk ST, EX ST
or (from jump-in possible) crMKxxlk ST, EX ST
using the last one from far away is risky and will miss more often then not.

J.hp -> cr.lp -> cr.lk -> lk ST -> EX ST should work. It’s hitconfirmable, but the link is hard to do.

What is better to use close up?
cr.lp or cr.lk?

Does one have frame advantage or anything over the other?

cr. LK must be blocked low and leads to ST
cr. LP is blocked low & high but beats many attacks, and is easily “comboable” into other normals.

I prefer cr. LP
