Try to be more specific when saying “but cant do shit with vega…”, if you just got it recently then that is your problem, just give it a few days and it will start to feel natural.
my bad…
basically i cant ultra or super correctly when needed. aswell as df.rh registering as c.rh.
on a plus side… normal links register alot smoothly.
I used to play with a pad, I use a stick now but I’ve got experience on both sides of things. His Super/Ultra is easily the hardest motion to do on pad, definitely made for a stick. I found it easier to think of the motion as more of a: CHARGE DB, to DF, then 3 quarter circle back, up to UPLEFT. After I practiced it, it started to hit on more of a regular basis, but there’s no denying it’s still a very difficult command to execute on a pad.
yea i found that method to work best for me, so now i gotta master it.
hi fellow Vega players; what are your prefered follow ups after a df+roundhouse,
-without EX?
I either use jump-forward fierce then flip when I land
or down-back + roundhouse; then cross up with df+rh and then flip or back jump fierce (thank you bebop)
- with EX?
EX FBA to ID, which I stick with most of the time.
down + strong to ex sky high attack from the other side (just a mix-up, not a combo)
Against some characters, I noticed that you can do an attack and FADC it to cross on the other side; but I don’t remember against who and which attack was used (I’ll test it again today and post). It’s not worth the meter at all though.
Also, the RCF can be cancelled into Super anytime during the animation of RCF; has anyone found any use except maybe confusing the opponinent who’ll block and thus be throwed?
Thank you
Without meter? I usually just standing Roundhouse and then slide. For some reason after getting hit with the DF+RH and then Standing RH they never block low and I get a free sweep. It hasn’t failed a single time.
yes that’s without meter; I’ll try your setup, too bad df+forward isn’t an overhead! It would spice things up!
This is what I would do - it was hell on my wrists and fingers though; I’d get some weird strain going on in my tendons.
Hi guys
got 2 questions:
what do i have to do to dizzy an opponent with vega?
whats the best option when im cornered? When im cornered, i pretty much loose the match cause i dont know how to get out.
Do a ton of consecutive damage. It’s tough because Vega doesn’t have the good combos that other characters do - he doesn’t have a crossup as far as I know.
We all do. Vega can’t really do anything in the corner, but here’s a few things you can try:
- db + lp + lk - that’s an option select tech throw/crouching short
- backflip
- ex scarlet terror (the flip kick, charge db, forward + kick)
Backflipping in the corner is one of the worst things you can do. You’re giving them a free hit when you recover. I mean unless they are scrubs trying to spam shoryu or something and you recover before them.
Maybe, but it’s the only thing that gets me out sometimes - especially if they jump in.
Don’t forget, Vega has a very useful wall jump.
Most of the time if you’re stuck in the corner and you’re opponent is continuously applying pressure, you won’t get a good chance to use it, but if the opening presents itself, and you need to get out of there quick, use it. I’ve gotten out of more than a few bad situations like that.
just reading the opyion select focus/tech thing…
could vega option select tech/flip maybe?
or does flip beat throw anyway… (sorry, it’s late and brain is slow)
I got thrown back into the corner once by Ryu after I did that. I probably should have been good enough to tech on landing, but I’ve been thrown several times online when mashing throw input and don’t tech it for some reason.
what reason does vega has to throw his claw up in the air in a match?
Best (read: cockiest) taunt in the game.
Changed title since were having to many uneeded threads.
i use the fightpad with vega big dawg
After df+rh i do the strong scarlet terror
