where did u find this out?
Its arlieth dude, the guy like helped program the game
Uhh, i think you’re thinking of Seth Killian? >_>
And it’s a secret. >_>
any other interestin vega stuff?
No, he still sucks. D:
I have one question, I plan on getting this game because I played SF 2 for the Super Nintendo a long time ago and loved it. I saw SF 4 coming out for the Xbox and was wondering if any of you arcade players saw any big differences between SF 2 Vega and SF 4 Vega.
I was just curious because Vegas was my best character back then and I was looking on trying to pick him up again. If not i can always fall back on Ken i suppose lol.
lolwhat
I was under the impression that he’s given 25% more damage for the first hit after mask throw, but this sounds just as nice.
So there’s truth to him getting stronger once the mask is off? I wonder if it would help his ultra out any? If so, taking it off purposely with a full revenge meter might create some interesting mind games (provided the opponent is aware of the damage boost).
In theory, that can be true.
However, actually landing the Ultra (outside of focus) is more or less going to be relied on the following:
- Opponent spamming moves that have long recovery frames from a distance, with you being near the edge of the screen already. (Including shoto fireballs)
- Opponent jumping while you are near edge of screen.
- Punishing random focus charges. (longer than level 1 charges)
- Said opponent has a faulty microswitch on their stick/pad which prevents him/her from holding back.
how does vega stop abels jumping mk when hes targeting your head?
standing hk misses/gets beaten.
only thing i can think of is preemptive j.hp and preemptive air throw.
ppp backflip avoids it but gives abel plenty of time to do another j.mk
i havent tried flip kick but i imagine it gets beaten cleanly, maybe the ex version trades?
FA absorb dash doesnt work?
**It wasn’t actually landing it that I was talking about. Just having the opponent know you could land it if they weren’t extra careful. Maybe they’ll play more reserved. Kinda like in Smash Bros. Brawl when someone gets a smash ball and everyone turns tail and runs sort of thing. Not to that extent maybe, but knowing “if I do this or that, I could get nailed by the ultra…AND it may actually hurt because his mask is off”.
It sure would be nice if he could juggle the ultra from a flip kick. Like if someone jumps in and you ex flip kick them and catch them in the ultra’s trajectory as they’re falling would be pretty nice. Why it doesn’t just home in is beyond me**
A good player will never spam fireballs at max range vs. claw with a stocked ultra.
On a side note, once i did do the mask throw with a full ultra vs. some random scrub who didn’t know any better. Talk about massive damage!
Ok…got a question. claw’s combo cr.mpxxex walldive. What command are you guys using…I don’t know if it’s just me (probably is) but I keep getting a flip kick everytime I up forward…
This was kicking my butt early on… Now i’m even more impressed on how often Bebop and Tatsu get this off because I can’t for the life of me sometimes.
But you gotta hold Down-Forward then take the stick in a roll motion to Up-Forward… If I just flick the stick I end up going backwards and do a EX on the wall behind me. Seems to leave you vulnerable unless I prep myself and time it with a MP Claw but even then I don’t feel like I have fast enough reaction
Is it just me or cr+mk cr+mp xx ex wall dive sumtimes just randomly whiffs on normal to small sized characters? I know I should have punished a whiffed DP with an FA but I tried punishing it with the Bnb combo and the ex just completely missed Ryu…yes not even a tick dmg…do u have to land the cr+mk cr+mp after a jump in attack or on counter or does the cr+mk has to hit on a ‘meaty’ manner for the combo to be ‘guaranteed’??
Ps.I know they dont work on crouching opponents
Just grabbed the game and am really loving Vega’s playstyle. However, I’m mildly confused and maybe you guys can help me.
I’ve been trying his Ultra in training mode and it seems to go over their head everytime. How exactly does it work guys?
It doesn’t work
Seriously though, it’s extremely gay about positioning and it’s very difficult to land.
The startup also leaves you very vulnerable if you’re under heavy pressure.
Try getting max distance against a taller character.
Ah, I figured out what I was doing wrong. I didn’t realize that you could go to either wall for that super… I can be silly sometimes hehe.
