yip… sure my honda was garbage…
hit cr lp 4x today 4 hit combo , didn’t know you can connect 4, don’t recall if it was counter hit or not.
Updating first post…(some people read first post)
Umm bebop300 mind if i Quote on first page?
Edit.
I don’t understand how this would be effective. You can’t throw when someone is in hit or block stun. And attempting a kara throw at dash in range is pointless. Also, the EX roll is too impractical at this point. It has ridiculous start up, and players can just jump over or punish it. I suppose you can use it to punish fireball spamming, but you’d have to anticipate the projectile (which is difficult to do against good players). In any event, dash in low short is probably your best bet, but I don’t even know if it’s linkable off a FADC’d roll. Guess we gotta wait for that frame data.
Yea i thought about it,Didn’t find it to be to wise.
Hey guys, I’ve always loved Balrog (yes I call him by his japanese name), and sf4 is no exception. So I was getting my ass handed to me all day, mostly because on my wake up I couldn’t figure out what to do. FLIP KICKS ARE HORRIBLE on wake up.
Any advice for what to do on my wake-up?
I usually block or Short backflip depending on what they’re doing.
Backflipping if they try to cross you up, is usually not the best idea since sometimes they’ll be right next to you as you recover.
edit: I listed the the recent podcast with Justin Wong, and he said that Claw can beat crossups with EX walldive. is this true? I haven’t had a chance to try it.
I tried it plenty today and it didn’t work once(this is against Bison’s cross-up forward). Maybe my timing is off?
Is anyone translating Claw’s frame data?
After trying out over half the cast, I’ve decide to come back to my ST favorite =P
Did you try going to both sides of the wall?
he said you can punish the cross up with EX walldive. that’s what I meant. I’m sorry if you were trying to stuff it.
akuma vs vega 6/4 akuma if not more imo.
Random Claw Combo Question
when you do jump fk or fp, standing fp, down mp, ex izuna, izuna drop 6 hit combo you get 4900 points
but when you do jump fk or fp, down mk, down mp, ex izuna, izuma drop 5 hit combo you get 5000 points
i thought the more hits the more points wonder why :S
I believe it’s the Hit Reduction:
1st 2 hit is at 100%, then 90%, 80% and so on. If I use your 6 hits combo above,
Hit Dmg: 100 50 50 70 50 150
Hit Reduc: 100 50 45 56 35 90 total 376
and the 5 hits combo:
hit Dmg: 100 70 70 50 150
Hit Reduc: 100 70 63 40 105 total 378
I think that’s why your 5hits do more dmg.
Please correct me if I am wrong.
If you ask me, they put way too much muscle on Vega.
You pretty much nailed it. Damage scaling seems quite strict in SF4.
Has anyone seen any use for his projectile attack?
you mean the claw/mask throw?
It’s really a taunt.
No real use to it found so far. unless you want to handicap yourself.
I found that the button pressed determines how far away the claw goes.
odd.

This is the only match that I know of with me playing Claw recently at a tournament. I was playing against Jason Cole.
I guess the only advice I could offer from this video is to try and bait a wake-up headbutt from Balrog, which is how I hit the Ultra, and stay the fuck out of the corner. Goddamn.
Any advice or comments from you guys would be great.
I guess I will also say that I think I do a lot better when I play Claw like I am playing him in Super Turbo. I play like I am playing Super Turbo, but then I use all of the options available to me in SF4, like EX Moves, Ultra and Saving Attack. I find a do a lot better with that mind set.
EX Roll on start up also beats Abel’s Ultra, but I don’t think you can do it on reaction. Just has to happen at the same time.
Have you tried to punish his charge attacks with Sky High Claw(or whatever the name is)?
I see a lot of peopele in SFIV forgeting about that move that make me think that they maid a transposition from ST to SFIV never playing the Alpha(since in ST the claw dive can’t connect shit)
Hey, from previous posts and data, it says that Vega’s only Armor Break moves are his normal and EX Scarlet Terror (Flip Kick). The Master Guide also states that the EX Sky High Claw (but not normal version) has Armor Break. However:

At 0:50 you can clearly see Ryu’s Focus Attack armor being broken by an EX Rolling Crystal Flash. I’m guessing normal Rolling Crystal Flash can do this as well. Is there anything else in the Master Guide that might indeed be wrong or missing?
Some notes:
c.LP - c.LP - c.MP xx EX Barcelona is the SHIT. Actually, not really, because you’re going to lose that advantage in one hit anyways.
Cosmic Smart (df+HK) owns wakeup Ultra Raging Demon (just don’t do it too early during his invincibility frames)
MP Rolling Crystal Flash has one weakness: If blocked, the 3rd hit (right before the final claw stab) has a frame gap. An EX Shoryuken or other reversal move breaks out of it. Therefore, be very careful of using it. I prefer just using Jab version.
j.HP can cleanly beat Blanka’s electricity. If you’re doing c.LP strings, you might want to try waiting to see if electricity is being mashed.
Focus Crumple -> Ultra may be the only way you’ll ever get to land it. (Unless you just blocked a Blanka Ball or Sagat’s Ultra)
Roundhouse comes out in 4 frames. Too bad it’s not single-hit and can’t anti-air like it used to.
Rolling Crystal Flash charges in 60 frames. Scarlet Terror charges in 42f. All walldives, including Ultra and Super, charge in 42f.
