I agree Vegaman, I own the game on both systems and have also gone to locals where they used one or the other system. There is a slight difference, although the link timing is still the same - difficult to explain.
You will always need to hit cr.MP the exact same amount of time after you hit cr.LP for them to link on any system. The difference is when if LOOKS like you need to do it on the screen. For a combo like st.cl.HP into cr.MP, the time between the button presses is rather long and most people take a visual cue from when Vega’s st.cl.HP animation is about to end, but on the PS3 for perfect timing you need to press cr.MP one frame in Vega’s animation earlier than on XBOX. Overall, the combo timing is the same if you close your eyes though.
Rarely you might be forced to play on a display that ALSO lags behind the game slightly - same issue, the lag is only visual. It’s not a big problem if you are used to playing online, because you automatically adjust your visual timing with slight lag differences.
Agreed you will feel a difference across platforms. It drove me absolutely bonkers when I first bought my 360 (from PS3). Give it a week or two and you’ll be adjusted.
Because I’m always switching between the two, your muscle memory will automatically start to adjust itself after about 10 minutes. It’s pretty cool.
The only other difference I felt was going for a throw at the end of a blocked CH. I always felt like I needed to be super early on 360. It felt horrible to start with.
I would like to know what’s the “reversal window”…also about shoryuken…I know is 3 frames start up…does that mean it can be beat if you hit during those 3 frames or it is invincible from start?..I hate reversals I want to understand them better so I can punish better…
So as long as im not +4 or more i can never be safe of a SRK…i always thought that if i was avaible to create frametraps with window smaller than 3 frames i could actually beat srk on startup with any normal…terrible missconception…thanks for the quick answer…
Quoting myself here because my keyboard didnt worked on SSIV (yeah, not arcade edition, just regular super). It works on the console of PS3 (you know, where you see your games, set your settings, etc). But on the game its seems like the keyboard isn’t even plugged, nothing works.
Any idea why this happened, or how can I fix it?
I had to play with the D-Pad… I almost cried.
I’ve noticed that sometimes when I jump in with fierce punch I sometimes cross up, whenever it happens it’s never on purpose and most of the time it’s in training mode. Just curious on what is happening.
there’s a small angle on certain characters where you can cross up with jHP. Bison, Blanka, Gief, and a few others I cant remember. I don’t know if anyone has came up with a reliable way to do it other than after an izuna drop that leaves you in the corner then immidiately jumping off the back wall with jHP (tatsu’s credit i believe)
What’s the best way to use ST? I rarely ever use the move because I feel it isn’t very strong. Are there good situations where I should use it over izuna?
