Hitbox is too thin/small/doesn’t track.
I’m really sorry to be that guy here I’m sure this has been covered about a million times but this thread is very long. How do you get a charge during cosmic heel? Cosmic heel to ST or EX FB seems awesome and needed so please how the F do I get a charge with it?
It’s as simple as it seems; charge downback as soon as you input the CH command. Then just execute the ST juggle once your opponent is around your waist. The timing isn’t strict at all once you get it and practice it enough.
this is a really scrubby question, but how do you get the 2-hit claw slash to come out after EX-Wall dive?
Go back one page in this thread and I answer this about 6 posts down.
does the super work as well as a an normal wall dive in a vortex?
Probably been covered but im new to the vega thread. How do you do cosmic heel into U2? does it only work on jumping opponents? That trial is killing me.
Yeah, you have to do it max distance.
I keep getting scarlet terror instead of EX barcelona… Thoughts?
that is what you want actually.
noooooooo
yeeesssssss.
yes, insist a little on jump-front direction with your stick/pad long enough to have it still pressed a few frames (1-2 frames is ideal ) after you have squashed those kick buttons (or kkk) before going back to something else.
**if you press any of the kick button a tad too early the top direction is not registered yet by the input system so he selects db.charge-front+k and that is the word for ST.
if you delay the kicks press and make sure that front/jump direction has been actuated for long enough, game system will recognise words for forward EX FBA > forward FBA > EX ST > ST and select the highest prioty, alias forward EX FBA.**
** my money is on you doing the motion too quickly and/or pressing the button(s) before the top switch input has been processed.**
coontrollers protocol is far from instant, i dont know the details about wired ps3/xbox controller lag, but wireless on any platform is very laggy, wired Usb on PC is somehow laggy too.
a milisecond too early on the buttons can mean 8 ms too early on the driver and then in turn one frame too early on the input engine level.
9 milisecond too early on any kick button can lead just as well to 0 frames between buttons and directions and everything goes well the first time but the next time you get 2 frames between the buttons being acknoledged and the directions and you get an random move to chose between - EX ST- ST - shortbackflip - rear EX FBA - rear FBA - or any version of crouching/standing kick.
so basically doing twice the exact same imperfect motion you get once the expected result and the other time another result depending solely on how the “sync” is at that very time between your presses the 125hz controller polling and the 60hz sampling from the game.
Ok so I’m really enjoying Claw, he sort of ended up becoming my defacto alt. I’m trying to get a rounder game than relying on pokes, specials, and exFB jump ins. What are some combos/tricks whatever I should be aware of and meld into my game as well as just mind set stuff for claw? I’ve been practicing Cosmic heel to whatever and it really not bad at all. I see the Cr.Mk, Cr.MpxxExFB combo used alot and want to work on getting that down pat. Cr.LpxxRCF seems like a decent simple whiff punish although the timing seems stricter than short to SK. What other things do I need to up my claw? What pokes do you guys generally use, I’ve been relying on mk and rh a lot but should I be using others?
Let’s play a funny game called “Sasaki answers!”.
Q: What are some combos/tricks whatever I should be aware of and meld into my game as well as just mind set stuff for claw?
A: I think this post will answer most of your questions.
Also, for newly discovered okizeme setups, check this.
S (Statement): Cr.LpxxRCF seems like a decent simple whiff punish although the timing seems stricter than short to SK.
C (Comment): “Whiff punish” is very vague. What are you trying to whiff punish? A DP? If so:
cl.HP, cr.MP, EX FBA
cl.HP, cr.HP (no meter needed)
df.HK, ST (no meter needed)
Those are some of the best options. Our community is about to create a guide for the best punishes against all characters’ signature moves by the way.
Q: What pokes do you guys generally use, I’ve been relying on mk and rh a lot but should I be using others?
A: We use almost all of them, since most of them have different properties (which reminds me that we don’t even have a fuckin moveset guide. Agh, seriously… We need this ASAP). Short summary of the most important normals and their uses:
cr.MP - Footsie god. High priority, range and short startup. Let your opponent run into a wall or whiff punish normals with this.
st.LK - Pressure tool. Has 2+ on block and combos into various normals such as cr.lp, cr.mp, cr.HP. Nice for kara throw ticks.
st.MK - Range monster. Comes out of nowhere to stop your opponent from advancing. Great when used against an opp. in the corner. Abusing this will get players to jump on instict as soon as you walk into it’s effective range.
cr.MK - Combo and Blockstring-assistant. Lots of +Frames on block and hit, combos into many combos and hits low.
st.HK - Fastest hard hitting normal. 4F, better in close ranges than st.MK. Stops people from jumping by stuffing them on startup.
df.RH - Hopkick. Combos into okizeme, safe on block; at the right range 3+ on block, punishes throw tech OS and goes over low normals.
lol I really like this sasaki game, thanks so much for such a great guide! Copy pasted right into my Vega combos doc. Had no idea Cl.Hp was so good, what does vega use to kara RH?
St.HK, jup.
question folks.
if Adon safe jumps me, and notices that im back dashing. Also lets say this is a pro Adon; knows that i dont back flip, and if i do its very seldom (enough for him to not look for it) and certainly not on wake up. Also lets assume im pro level and the bait game that is so dominant at intermideate level is not so prevalent here so he is more inclined to pressure me. On wake up he notices that im doing back dash. not every time, but enough to get him to OS. so he starts OS me with Rising Jaguar. If i do back flip is that not a way to bait the OS and punish harder than god punished the Egyptians.
I got the idea, when I was playing this Ryu earlier and i saw that he would jump in os SRK, and i decided to kkk flip. I completly avoiding the OS and took the round. can this be a use for kkk flip? Baiting jump in OS or some other type of OS.
sounds ridicoulus but you never know.
edit: one more thing, how many of you buffer the ultra motion? Im finding myself doing that. sure you lose charge, but you start landing your Ultra a hell of a lot more.
I’ve been having issues against turtling opponents lately. Baiting them out of it won’t work, and if I try to apply a bit of pressure in the least-punishable way, I’ll still find a way to get punished. I think some of my issue is that I’m playing a lot against people that are just plain better than I am. But there’s got to be some trick applying pressure to a turtle that I’m not getting. I’m not used to pressuring, since most of my previous success (using that term loosely) has been with Dhalsim.
What’s the best way to deal with being knocked down/in a corner. If someone is trying a special as a meaty I back flip, aside from that I generally just block. The corner i’m at a loss for I block until I see an opening for an Ex FBA but if that doesn’t come I’m sort of screwed. Help?
