Vega General Discussion 2013-2015 and on!

can we use CH—>Super (if Super start up is fast enough) ??? around 350-390 damage I guess

super has almost the same speed as u1. so if you can do CH to u1, then CH to super would be the same. good luck trying to do that in game. or in training room for that matter

Anyone still playing SF X tekken?..i know this is the wrong place to ask but the SF X Tekken sub forum has being dead for months…i’m finding Vega unplayable in that game so i would aprecied if anyone can point me to some recent footage of any decent sf x tekken vega…

Vegaman — just for the alert  He knows what’s up in SFxT

Well that did not work well… anyway: Place 6

Look who’s back in the arcades!

he probably only plays arcades till console arrives, then he’ll go back in his lab stream usf4 for us

Best bet is to look up videos of Tatsu playing Vega in SFxT before he dropped the game. By far the best Vega out there in that game.

was just checking out the win percentages on the top 10 vega players in japan. was suspicious of the 74% average win rate, so went to check it out…makoto at 92% win rate…beaten only by 2 juri players at 93% win rate, my god makoto you’re godlike!

Yup. But afaik he does not play at the Taito Station (where the best players are). He seems to play in some other arcade that I forgot the name.

It’s still very impressive, though.

shhh, let’s pretend he does play at Taito

Wow very impressive, and that’s not even the console version.

Figure this is as good a place to post it as any. Anyone even heard of the gamertag ‘Mikeybabyjr’? Apparently he’s the number 1 [bp] ranked Vega with 16000bp exactly lmao.

Did I mention that I take it back, that Super buff is pretty significant? It’s actually useful now. Since they removed the nerf to the knee hit, I find myself using meterless, hit and run, and other options and using super when I can. Or, even if I have 4 bars, I will sometimes combo into EX FBA, get my meter back, and super.

It also destroys Hugo. He has no real AA answer for it, you can even grab him out of EX Backbreaker. The match up seems pretty bad for him, but one thing he does have is enormous range which can counter if you whiff. Plus, he has so much health there is a good chance you will build your meter up again chipping away at him.

Any Hugo worth his salt will Backbreaker after blocking the knee of EX FBA/super and hit you on your way to the wall, just like Cammy with her DP. And I haven’t fought the matchup much actually, but I believe that early c.HP and crouch into late EX Backbreaker are good answers to walldive shenanigans. Or jump back fierce, huge range that walldive can’t close. Delayed wakeup to thwart any walldive oki.

Nah, if he’s close to the wall, he can’t grab you with back breaker because you should be above his head as you jump off it. Hit stuns him as you plow through him, and then you’re above his back breaker range. If he does BB, you can grab him out of it as long as you stay above his head. If you whiff and he whiffs then he ends up on the other side of the screen or back in the corner. Hugo seems to have a really hard time dealing with anything that goes above his head and using wall dive to cross up can further break his BB input attempts and he could get lariat instead.

DWU? If he’s in the corner, look for Technical and then wall dive depending on where you are.

Basically, as long as you can get off the wall above him as he wakes up he has no answer.

On the other hand, BB is really deadly against anything NOT above him. He can BB Honda torpedoes (including super) on reaction. Any other air born attack like a hop, too. So, as a Claw player, it isn’t a good idea to try to pressure with CH. He can BB it like it’s nothing. He can even BB dashes, it’s pretty crazy  I learned that the hard way.

I probably played like 50 matches against Hugo the other night at my friend’s house. The thing that sucks is if he does manage to hit you, you pay for it, big time.

FFS. I really hate how wonky this damn game is. From shit like ST completely passing through people without hitting them, to Guile’s Backhand Bitch Slap passing through Hugo’s jaw.

So, I feel like this is Vanilla Vega all over again.

I can’t tell you how many times this shit happens. Sometimes, instead of going all the way to the wall, he will simply drop straight down and the whole move glitches out. Don’t get me wrong, I love the knee hit, but they need to fix this shit NOW.

That happened to me twice so far with Vega’s super and I blame you for liking Lords of Shadow.

I don’t know if this happened in previous versions aswell, but the cr.mk - cr.mp combo: a lot of times the cr.mp will just pass straight through a crouching Zangief (and afterwards, you’re fucked).

Can always test it out on AE. I can try to test it out later for you if you don’t have it.

I think I know what happens with the knee hit. It treats all hits as if an opponent was grounded, so it launches the opponent the same height regardless of how high the opponent is. That’s probably why you see Gouken launch 3x the height of the stage, because I hit under him. If he was on the ground, it would probably be the same amount of launch height and you could catch him off the wall as he falls down. So, it seems to me they forgot or completely ignored variable opponent height.

The funny thing is this coding is already in U1. If you hit a jumper, they don’t get launched that high like if they were grounded, and you can still connect the U1 in most cases.

Anyone know how I can report this?

What do you think is the chance to see Zeus make Top 8 at this year’s Evo?
