I cant get that fuzzy guard OS shit to come out for anything. Either I get ultra after the normal or ultra only comes out on trade.
I’ve tried cHP and cHK primarily because cMK and cMP are difficult to get the entire motion on and cMK will give PoM unless timed really well.
On a good note i’ve gotten really really good at trade OS-ing U2. On a bad note… it’s too damn slow to hit anything.
Also… you can’t fuzzy guard OS cancel U1 since you’ll default to the back wall when you press down back. You’ll never hit the opponent in time unless it’s like gief’s lariat.
Annnnnnnnnnnd one more thing. During this process I somehow accidentally stumbled into a crossup U1 set up. It works at all but max range. Unfortunately I cannot reproduce it. But if someone can help master the timing it works like this:
CH into KD reset with cMK whiff cMK U1. It works really really really well with EX FBA but it’s finicky with U1
i just did my first fuzzy guard os on someone today, since it’s online, it’s a bit hard to react to fireballs at midrange, so i just whiff a cr.mp on purpose. he threw a ex fireball, saw it starting up during the ultra slow motion, haha. u1 i think is good to do on certain setups against dp happy people. moving to the back wall will avoid anything. would work well with viper and fei who loves to do mk chicken wing or ex burn kick to go through your grabs.
the timing s quite easy. yeb said to hold the kkk button before the whiff move finishes recovering, and let go after the whiff move finishes recovering.
i have a suspicion that we will get that knee hit. they have said that they will be giving defensive characters with more tools, plus combofiend is in charge of overseeing the changes and vega’s super is notorious of being useless. plus he used a bit of vega so he knows what’s up.
nobody uses super unless you’re dhalsim or akuma or whatever where you build fast meter. the only reason to have “access” to a comboable super is just in case in those super low chances when you have full super meter and your opponent just happens would die from a super combo to end the game, it’s just better to end it that way. it’s not your primary strategy to use it, it’s just that theres more chances to end your opponent with one combo to end the game faster
Yeah, but my point is, when will Claw ever have super in the first place? I think the only times I’ve had super was maybe at the start of the round if I didn’t use EX the round before, and that’s only if I’m playing someone scrubby who I can just kill with normals or dive loops because they don’t really know what they’re doing.
Otherwise, I’m always looking for a way to burn meter on EX.
So what’s the point of having a super buff when it still won’t be usable anyway because you’ll never have full meter?
I’d much rather they buff him in other ways. How about making FBA useful? Make FBA a double hit attack so that it would be dangerous to FADC out of it, making the knock down/throw mix up dangerous again. Give it a hard knock down instead of soft knockdown. Buff the speed so it isn’t so damn easy to react to. It’s like you have 100 years to react to it (it’s ridiculously easy to react to, especially if you have a great AA like E.Ryu’s cr.Fierce, I’ve done it easily) and pretty much any AA beats it clean, and if it knocks down from a lucky trade, you get a mere soft knock down I’d take buffing one of his useless attacks and making it dangerous over a stupid buff on something I’m never, ever going to use. Ever.
we aren’t “trading” one buff for another here. this is more of a “fix” thena buff. look at cammy for example. she will always use up her meter for ex strike. but there will be times when she won’t be using it all the time depending on the character she’s playing against and also depends on the style of the player. against high level players, it’s very difficult to land a combo with vega. like i said, it’s unlikely that you’ll use the super, but under specific circumstances, you will use it. i’m a very conservative player, so against defensive characters/players, i have more meter to burn than i would like
ugh, remember my old Cosmic Heel into Scarlett Terror thread???
replace EX FBA with U1 and it works. It’s jsut stricter timing because the hit box for U1 going to the wall is smaller than EX FBA…
YOu can also use the same idea to have the actual dive of the wall hit the opponent but it’s harder becuase more space is covered in less time making it a harder cross up.
