Sounds like you got T-Kim’d B-Izm…only getting capped when he wins.
Anyways, so back on the topic of VS, Ihira makes a good point. Who actually goes on GGPO and plays this anymore? I’m all for playing and having fun and everything, but I get tired of seeing the same people in the room every day. Granted, VS has a high learning curve for high level play and lots of the people who were in the room had started with VS when it first dropped on GGPO. So it’s not like you’re walking into a room where you might find a beginner like yourself to at least learn the game.
Anyways, I’m confirmed going for Evo. I’m going to bring my laptop and FBA so we can run VS casuals or maybe a tournament in the BYOC area. So what sayeth ye, VS players? Show up to Evo and meet the people that have been kicking your ass (or vice versa) in the flesh.
I think Marvel is an evolved form of Vampire and that’s why it really didn’t take off. Air block, PB, and what not. Flashier, Marvel is well known, and just something seems to turn people off from it.
I can’t put my finger on it. Vampire is a really good game, and I dont see what the problem is.
I think there’s a bigger emphasis on footsies in VS. I think in more subtle ways like that, VS is way more advanced than Marvel. If you were just talking in a pure “number of hits in combos” or “amount of special game aspects”, sure, I guess Marvel is more evolved. But, I think VS is deeper than that.
