Vampire Savior: advanced link combos & important notes

Ah I just got done playing TKO (vampire hunter champ) on GGPO. He’s fucking beastly, glad I managed to pull a few games in between his dozen sets of streaks.

Wondered why it got so dark…

Also, good shit to Magman for getting a few in on TKO. Wish I could have seen it.

Is he ‘keyboard master’? (i highly doubt that name holds any truth:confused:)

I just got like a 3-50 against him. which now makes sense.

Yup that’s him. Man I dunno what to think honestly, he fucks shit up but can’t hcf motion with Bishamon. His Sasquatch and Jedah play really well though, so the truth is kind of a mystery to me…

looking at TKO owning on DD right now

Yay! People are using my savestate to play Hunter on GGPO. Im glad I made it

Glad to know you made it too.

Mag: Maybe he doesn’t play with Bish as much? I probably couldn’t do Anak very well if I was just fucking around, which is what I’m supposing he’s doing. But I’ve watched TKO play a little bit and he is a monster

Hi dudes! VS player from Sweden, just started playing serious about a month ago, still learning alot. Play a moderat Sas and my nick is Spindeln. Played some of you guys, especially remember Magneto Maniac and Lupicd (?), top lads. I also play a crap anakaris and morrigan, but my philosophy is to stick with ONE char and don’t waste time on secondarys so its all cool. Also played alot with Psychotron from Portugal, the beast, who I cant touch yet.

Because I live in Sweden the time diferences make it hard for me to sync in when other players play (because nobody play in Europe). But I hope I get in some good games with you when the opportunity rise.

One question; why is Sas bnb cr.lk, cr.mp, st.mk, cr.rh, why st.mk instead of cr.mk? Because of the reach? Doesnt it miss on small crouching chars?

we have a ranbat on sunday, 7.00 PM. if you want to join in, tell me, or sign up here yourself: http://forum.hardedge.org/organisation-and-information/meetings-matches/netplay/8672-vampire-saviour-ranbat/

st.mk does abit more damage and has much more range, it won’t work if you catch a low character like bbhood or morrigan crouching but it will work if you hit them while standing.

Hey Man, weclome to GGPO.

I haven’t been on much, but if you can find me…I’ll play you anytime. I love seeing new people come into the game.

My UN on GGPO is Korey. I’ll be sure to look for you when I’m on.

I played you in ST yesterday. If you want to play my scrub lilith in VS just say something to me in the ST room. My GGPO handle is Sanjuro1917.

Newbie here. Looking forward to getting creamed:confused: by you guys.

Is your handle on GGPO The Punisher? Couldn’t get a connection. Also I’ll be playing this from time to time more often when I get my stick

Looks like I’ll have some more free time on my hands now that one of my jobs fell through and I have only one job. So look out for Korc in the near future

Dude, where was everyone? I hopped on and everyone was either AFK or not paying attention.

BUELLER?

So, been trying to start playing a lot again lately. Keep an eye in the GGPO room and ill probably be around a good bit.

LeiLei is one of my favorite chars, but im still having a little trouble getting completely use to pendulum and the mixup and momentum shenanigans you can do with it.

Anyone have any suggestions/explanations on how to make it work?

Cancel it in the sway direction to get the forward and reverse momentum.

Save the AD for your decent to move around normals and/or cross up

c.FPxxs.RHxxpendulum is really gross. Can hit on either side really ambiguously. Cancel the cross up into ground chain, cancel the same side overhead to j.mp to ground chain.

Hitting standing tall characters with the pendulum gives you the chance to cancel after the first couple of hits to air chain to rejump infinite.

As hampster once told me, “knowing when to tenraiha is more important than comboing into it.” With that said, it is pretty handy if you get your execution to at least make it OTG after a sweep in the corner.

Lei-Lei is pretty complex…but as far as basic mixups go, here are a few.

  • c.lk, IAD hk, land chain.

  • IAD hk, IAD hk, land chain.

  • c.lk, c.lk, s.lp c.hp (this is a link combo, harder to time. it avoids GC’s at high level though, uppercut ones mainly)

  • c.lk (s.lp) dash command grab.

  • c.lk, (s.lp) dash c.hk, tenraiha (otg). - the (s.lp) is optional.

  • c.lk, s.lp (hits as early anti air and resets), IAD hk.

As for tenraiha, you can just be creative and throw it in any of your strings. Also remember that c.mk into tenraiha is pretty useful.

note: a nice string on standing characters at least as tall as demitri is this. j.lp mp mk hk, then you can mix up after that or even land and combo if it hits.

:confused: what the fuck? I didn’t understand any of that.

He was talking about Pendulum (DP+P) not Tenraiha.

I’ve got a good feel for tenraiha, still can’t do some of the crazy cancels with it, but enough to be dangerous. Its the pendulum setups that I’m having trouble with.

Like Risuno was saying chaining into c.HPxxs.RH-> cancel pendulum. Thats the sort of thing i need to practice. How does each button affect the move coming out? It seems like they all have slightly different startup trajectories but im not sure which to be using when

That didn’t make a lick of sense to me either. And I knew that he was talking about the pendulum.

I’m guessing with lei lei, that you’d use mp for the pendulum most of the time and if you wanted to do something while you’re close you’d do jab pendulum and if you’re like full screen, you’d do fierce pendulum.

That’s just a guess though.
