Vampire Savior: advanced link combos & important notes

Did you get it recently? If so you’re probably missing XORs. Test it on a newer mame (post 112 I think) and see if it works. If it does, that’s the problem. If not, then maybe you need the bigger parent rom.

Did Kaji win the DS vampire savior combination cup or did the Sasquatch player win?

Huh? It was teams so it was Kaji (Lilith), Nasu (Sasquatch), and Kosho (Bulleta) who won.

Nasu OCV’ed the first three teams they faced. Kaji wiped out their semi opponents and got a win (vs. t2ya) in the finals. Nasu beat the other two. Kosho didn’t get to play at all!

After the finals Nasu fought Kaji and Kosho and beat them, too.

wow so they raped em like that holy shit. lollol.

I’m friccin up and on aim. Finally got my stick back so all who wants to play today im ready. My pyron has gotten vicious. muharharharhar.

played a little bit of this the other day and forgot how fast turbo 3 was.
This is the standard speed setting for competitive play right?
I can hardly techhit and Guard cancel at all! I don’t even know what the hell I’m doing at this speed.

more practice n play I guess…

So, my jump in to the real world has been eatin away at my everything time.

to put a bit’ve life into this thread, i thought to bring up an interesting habit, that I dont see from most of the pple i’ve played [or use enough of myself], which i see often in jap vids.

it is simply, an air chain to empty chain [as i have dubbed for consistency] habit

While applicable with the majority of the cast, I see air->empty chaining done most often with bb hood and zabel.

As it implies, this mixup/gimmick(which’s really what it comes to be in a macroscopic view of things), is making the second part of an air chain wiff, and tagging on an additional normal immediately afterwards.

My off the bat example is bb’s:

j.mp(hits)->j.mk(wiffs), j.mk.

simple right? the j.mp->mk chain is done while rising; and the j.mk comes out on the descent.

the opponents initial mentality after seeing the wiffed mk is generally to block low, attempt for a counterattack, or even keep blocking standing(which is in your favor on crossup)

as said earlier, its a simple gimmick for landing a hit, yet nice alternative habit for landing a hit, and maintaining vairable pressure.

just a couple notes:

-bb’s j.mk definitly has the ability to cross up, though it may or may not always crossup depending on the opponents height, and your distance from them(which is good… varation is good).

-remember, you cannot empty chain with the normal move you used to start your airchain.

-i was contemplating this before, but this approach may give zabel the room to land an unblockable j.lk.

can someone try j.D+mp->j.mk, j.lk?

Where can I find vids of Donovan? Youtube has like nothing.

Search Soh85. He has a lot of Hunter vids.

@GB: I should test that with Sas and Victor sometime. Hrmm.

I have only 3 videos with Donovan
Here is the playlist with all videos released by Mikado: http://youtube.com/view_play_list?p=0D1130334084179D

Well to add to the empty chain rule: you can also use the same normal twice if it wiffs. Like say if
I’m playing demitri, I’d do a: j.lk (hit), j.mk (wiff), j.mk (hits mostly on cross-up), which is indeed the hot fire.

p.s Did vs go down at NEC. Unfortunately, I had about as much money to get down their and buy
one cheese burger and decided against it due to no ride.

With Bishamon
climbing medium kick -> whiff fierce -> falling whatever (short, rh, etc.)
is key.

I think Bulleta can do basket, whiff medium kick, short, rh, unblockable crouching short. Against large characters?

re: NEC
Didn’t happen. Too many games. On sunday one station was being used by one (1) person to play Soul Calibur against the CPU. Awesome.

It’s happened. Savior on GGPO. See you all on there!

oH MY HEAVENS!! SKEET! It Has Begun!!!

All that writing “vampire savior!” on the ggpo next games thread has worked i guess.
Aren’t we all glad we were VS fans!

ggs, jedahsministry, thanks for the 40 streak beating, that bubble is nasty stuff. I hope I can improve slowly.

haha. He got you too huh? That makes me so angwy…puffuffpuff…vewy angwy indeed.

jedah taught me some felicia…shes awesome on ggpo without lag/delay.

all i wanna know is a few things.

whats her EX scratch move when her opponent is grounded?

and how do i bounce on them in the roll animation when they’re grounded too?

The scratch move is D, D + P. (Can ES it with PP)

To pounce, just hit up plus P or K when they are grounded. (Can be ES’d) Don’t think you can pounce while they roll though.

thanks man. one more question, does the same go for the scratch move? if they roll i wont be able to do the move?
