Vampire Savior: advanced link combos & important notes

Good stuff TSF. I really should try to put some Time into Zabel, hes a really interesting character but definitely takes a lot of time up-front to really get a good feel for his normals and all his options

alright thanks Kajoq

kenuran - I don’t have the copy yet, will tonight at midnight though. Before we play, let me see how long I can keep a 100% win ratio haha. I’ll play you later definitely tho.

I’ll probably play on GGPO but my frame rate on Vista is butt cheex.

So I just recently took out my old Astro City cabinet from storage and put it inside my room, and popped in my old Vampire Savior board (which I hadn’t played in years).

One thing’s for sure, this game would be 100x better if we played it on actual CPS2 boards.

The game runs so beautiful on an actual arcade board, emulated Vampire Savior runs way too fast, even when you’re playing offline.

The 2 big differences are the speed of the game (it’s actually slower) and the timing of your inputs, Tech hitting is so much easier, combos are easier and it just feels smoother overall. I was tech hitting everything and I was doing Sako combos nonstop, I even did some pretty long loops.

Arcade4Life.

Funny thing is, when I try to explain that to people, they call me an “Arcade Snob”. Emulated games generally run way too fast when you’re used to playing games on arcade.

Nah I agree, playing on emulated 3s for a very long time made hit confirming on arcade cabs near effortless.

Also I’ve played on a VS board, it does seem a lot easier to do things. However the cf cab can eat a dick :expressionless:

Yup B-izm. Completely agree. I’ve been playin on my Cab a decent bit lately (With Kyle_Wattula, you guys have prob seen him in room lately workin his lilith).

Game is just so much more ‘crisp’ on the cab. No teleporting Q-Bees and Bishamons on their dashes, No jerky transitions, just smooooooth gameplay, inputs coming out how you tell em to, etc.

Who is going to Evo? I’m really wanting to figure out a way to bring my CPS2 and a Supergun

I dunno if this is quite the same, but there is a notable difference in the way it looks on the PS2 version. I don’t know if I think it feels too fast or not; I just think this game is too fast to be played online perfectly. It’s true though, there are some things that I mess up like half the time on GGPO that I will miss like 1/20 times when just messing around with VS on my Playstation 2.

Everytime I play VS on the PS2 (via the Darkstalkers Collection) I’m always having problems dashing and chaining at first, because it seems it’s just a bit slower than the emulated rom.
Would you say that the PS2 version plays more like the actual board?

It does but it’s still a tiny bit faster.
