Lots of respect for bringing the frequent tourney idea back. I sadly have to wait until the end of this upcoming week to get my stick back, but I’ll see what I can do against the better players if you don’t have enough participants by then…
At a glance it seems like Savior is getting some new players (some new bb hoods!), so sorry I haven’t been popping in that much… at all?
so thats officially 10. now we need to agree on some rules.
what do you guys want, 2\3 or 3\5?
as far as time constraints go, how many days is good enough for you guys to setup matches? 2-4 days? This is the tricky part really, I believe 3 days is fair for people to fit in a 10 minute match.
a 10 man tournament will last 12 days if its 3 days per round. A 10 man tournament 2 days per round will last 8 days.
**
winners final\losers final**
when the finals round happens, I would like the last 3 participants to arrange a time to all play together. That way after losers finals is done, grand finals can start. This prevents losers final from being 1 round, then waiting 2 days to play grand finals. I’m just going to throw in the finals as 1 round to speed it up. This worked really well in the mvc2 l-tier league.
also, w\e time the players decide for finals, I would like the time to be posted in the thread so that other players may watch. Now the finals round players don’t have to cater to rest of us, w\e time they work out is fine and if you want to watch it live, you’ll have to make plans. Finals will be uploaded onto youtube to promote the league.
once we figure out some of the rules, I’m going to set a near future date to start the tournament.
I believe that if you advertise the league in your sig, more people will join. There’s been a lot of VS threads on srk and people say they play. Just gotta get the word out.
There’s definitely some stuff missing. Some of the VS2 changes are incorrect, like push blocks are actually harder in VS2. I know of at least two unblockables missing (BB Hood’s unblockable setup with J.Hk, and Talbain’s ES Beast Cannon unblockable).
Otherwise, I guess it’s an okay start. My only personal suggestion is to use the American name, or the American AND Japanese names. I dunno why, I just think it’s so pretentious to use the JP only names when we primarily play the American/Euro version which have different names. I only use the JP names when I’m talking to Japanese players. …Plus, they just sound dumber. Gallon? Bulleta? Seriously?
EDIT: Oh, and in the glossary, you might want to add “AG”, which is the act of push blocking one attack.
The work on the wiki wasn’t mine, actually, I just maintain it for the players. There’s also redirects already set up in place for the American names, but I’ll edit them in the sidebar so it’s a little clearer who’s who.
I don’t suppose any of the people here would be willing to help? It’s really only a couple of people doing the work so far.
Played yesterday my first actual match [Only played some casuals with friends, nothing serious] with K’ on GGPO and got my ass kicked by his Hsien KO. Any chance you’re on SRK as well?
Read about the systems in the SRK wiki, and I’m probably gonna stick and learn Morrigan and BB Hood.
I hope next time I’ll get my ass kicked a bit less
Eksh on GGPO, and I would like to compete in the tourney if there’s still a place left
Yo. No need for the extra apostrophe on the end. I’m not a KoF character.
Still trying to pick up more stuff with Lei-Lei, ggs to anyone I’ve played on GGPO with. More than likely, I was the one taking the losses.
There is a tournament in Japan called Darkstalkers Combination Cup in which they play Vampire Hunter and Vampire Savior. But other than that, sadly no.
