Any tips for air-air with Anakaris?
Started trying to learn him again a bit ago, and I’m having problems with jumpers when I use him.
I’ve been using snake arms, :d::hp: and coffin drops to repel jumpers so far, but I’m pretty much always grounded when I use him unless I’m using drills/transformation fireballs.
EDIT: Sorry, I usually hate it when people ask shit that’s already been written down.
s.mp, c.mp, snake hands, c.hp. Are what I use in most->least order. tho the frequency in which I use them isn’t great, and is dependent upon character matchups.
Morrigan’s the newest recruit to the Kicks army.
What’s some good stuff?
I like c.MPxxSoul Fist, far MPxxSoul Fist
mix with
c.MPxxSoul Fist, Dash Attack, Chain
or
c.MPxxSoul Fist, Dash, Vector Drain
plus (for fun)
c.MPxxSoul Fist, Cryptic Needle
Basic, but fun nonetheless for me. What’s some sweeter stuff than this? Which Soul Fist should I use for rushing down? (they all seem the same to me and my sources say they’re all -2 on block) What’s a good way to use Valkyrie Turn?~Basically I use it if I can’t get in or to escape a bad spot, but are there more uses?
F,f,u is a nice way to screw with timing for PB and GC. Plus you can cross up with it nicely.
Also…
c.LP LP qcf LK HP (stated in the first post) is really really helpful getting DI to land.
I’m having a shitload of trouble with Lei-Lei’s jumping :mp:/:hp: and Lei-Lei in general when I use Jedah. It stuffs his jumping :mp: clean too.
If I try to fly in, I eat a projectile. If I don’t, it’s hard to keep her from advancing on me.
The :hp: is multi-hit too, and the time between the last hit and her first low hit isn’t very long, so if I end up blocking it, I’m almost surely going to get hit either high or low, and then eat a combo after that.
I asked Lucky, and he said to just tech/GC it, but I can’t do it fast enough half the time. Maybe it’s just my keyboard.
I can win pretty frequently if I just rush her down as hard as I can, but I don’t feel like I’m in control of the match that way.
So far, a couple things seem to have helped:
-Avoiding throwing air wheels, and poking into ground wheels instead and then quickly dashing in.
-Air dash :hp: to keep her grounded and stuff gongs.
-Straight air dash if I’m close and I think she’s gonna jump.
Chicken guarding’s another option, but it seems to put me in a bad spot afterwards most of the time, and her standing :hp: makes it risky.
Is this a bad match-up or something? All of Lei-Lei’s moves seem designed to pick Jedah out of the air.
Thanks, homey!

Also… Since there was so much Bishamon, how come they use b,dp instead of the double rushing slash thing. Does one do more? Better wake up? Better spacing? More setups? WHO KNOWS?
I was just gonna post this!
Anywho… I was lookin’ for it for a while and thought other might have been.
I’d also like some clarification on some of these combos. I believe most of the over the top ones were from VS2? This is a question. Am I wrong here?
Still lookin’ for Morrigan strats. Any help would be both totally radical and appreciated!:lovin:
(I’m also still wonderin’ 'bout my Bishamon question from above)
The DP follow-up is much faster, since back pulls them to you instantly. I’m pretty sure you can mash out of the dizzy from the fireball, so it’s safer just to use the DP unless you’re comboing into the fireball and you’re sure it’s gonna hit.
^
that may be the case. I thought initially that they might do it to stock up on meter for fb loop, since it burns meter helluva lot faster than the bubble loop. tho the one fellow ES’d his uppercut(tho I think it was also in part because his opponent has near zero life.)
As for morrigan, mine is ghetto, but I’ll divulge.
rush down.(lol… yet serious)
all of her special moves have utility, despite their anal priority(the uppercut) and startup(fireball and command throw).
her command throw’s slow, but is worth being mixed in provided you’ve conditioned your opponent to block(though thats the case with any throw)
lp fireball(which is unsafe), or s.mpXXlp.fireball, then dash in to rushdown. the fireball does quite a job at rushing down, and is useable for a decent AA.
I only ever use the strong/firece fireballs fullscreen when I want to chip(I input missile super during the fireball).
morrigan’s dashes are fast. esp. if you’ve played her cvs2 counterpart(which is slow as shit). not only does she have a forward and backward dash, but she has a forward and reverse superjump dash. on wakeup, this serves as a poor man’s homing dash, since she will always dash towards the enemy during a sj dash(It makes staying on top of the opponent easy).
Always dash in pulses, and learn the sweet spot where you can throw out a normal(i was going to list the ones that are useable, but then I realized I use them all…lk I use the least) after a fwd.fwd tap.
and thats all for now, I have class in 20 minutes, & it takes me 15 to get there. ^_^; not much but something to digest.
