I started off in the video doing what felt like dropped inputs in tutorial mode. (This was the first time doing it in training mode to see if it was an actual dropped input)
Then I did some simultanous presses with the 2nd forward of the dash and jab to see if the input log showed up differently (it did)
Then I did a few forward jab forward to see if a jab would cancel into a dash (so fast that i couldn’t see it) but it doesn’t.
Even before doing these tests, I’m very confident that my inputs are clean. it was actually a bit difficult “dirtying” them up for this video.
But yes, what you feel is true, there are a few frames during a dash or jump, in which you can’t input any button, afaik, the only things you can do, is buffer special moves or 7j, b or db. The directions just end your dash as soon as possible (or shorten it). Every other direction doesn’t do anything by itself until the end of your dash afaik.
BB’s infinite is frame perfect, but IIRC because of turbo 3, you have a 25% chance of it just not being possible because of frameskip = ( Explanation:
Me pressing the punch Too early, for TK fireball, and a punch not coming out. It’s not that I can’t do the TK fireball,
I know my inputs are clean, so it’s a simple matter to just delay the punch once I figured out what was going on. (if I tried in training mode in the first place rather than tutorial, it would have been more obvious to me what was going on…)
It just messed with my head when a normal punch didn’t even come out when I pressed it early. Feels really weird having a dropped input coming from ST / the vs series where a punch or a grounded special always came out, this felt wierd…
I also included a few where i pressed the diagonal simultaneously to see what would happen. (yup, grounded special)
Any tips for Rikuo’s 5th challenge? I’ve watched the YouTube vids and tried both legitimately and otherwise, it’s the toughest challenge I’m working on and I have completed all of SFIV and SSFIV trials.
Using an arcade stick btw…
