Vampire: Darkstalkers Collection Dip Switch Settings FAQ

I wanted to make a similar thread to the Dip Switch Settings Revealed thread in the Street Fighter Alpha Anthology section to maybe encourage any use out of it.

All Data taken from ShadowJin’s Vampire: Darkstalkers Collection FAQ

I’ll start with the more tourney viable games and add the others later. (maybe)

[7. VAMPIRE SAVIOR]

Arrange Mode Phobos and Donovan - In Vampire Savior, Phobos does not pause in
mid-air like his Vampire Hunter incarnation. You can, however, enable his
air maneuvers by holding START while selecting Phobos. He plays exactly the
same and even has Cecil running beside him as usual. This also affects Donovan.
Hold START while selecting Donovan to change his sword placement to distance
mode (the strength kick you use determines how far away the sword is placed)
like in Vampire Hunter 2.

Secret Menu - When selecting GAME OPTION under the OPTION menu, hold L1+R1. In
this menu, you’ll find a list of versions with dates for their release. Below
the versions is a number of stars. These stars light up when you select
different versions according to what changes were made from the existing
version (aka 2005/05/19.) There was changes made here and there in the game
per revision and you adjust these changes one by one under the CUSTOMIZE
option. Below, I’ve tried to list what star does what as well as numbered them
for easy finding.

Total of Stars: 44 (57 in Arrange mode)
1997/04/30ver: 43 stars are filled (Location Test Japan Revision)
1997/05/19ver: 38 stars are filled (Final Japan and USA Revision)
1998/04/16ver: ?? stars are filled (Sega Saturn Revision - Arrange Mode Only!)

If anyone can translate this page it would reveal more info on the stars than is currently present:

http://www.geocities.jp/shu180sx/dc/dc-savior-arrange.html

The only one I could tell with my limited knowledge, is that 3-16 is referring to J.Talbain’s ES Beast Cannon unblockable.

i think this was done a long while back. I will scour the old srk threads and see if something related still exists to help

Felineki posted a more complete dipswitch guide he found and translated from “Shu Darkstalkers Frame Data site”
