Well I’m gonna be at EVO and hope to see some of you guys there. I’m hoping to play some serious vsav and jojos casuals there…
Played some VH on the Saturn for the first time in awhile and some observations from a long time player:

VH makes a case for being one of, if not, the most balanced fighting game from the 90’s. Its one of the only few games where the top tier don’t dominate in a lopsided fashion and the game mechanics allow everyone to be viable.

Some of the most beautiful looking 2D animation in a fighting game ever. Even in 2011, its nice to look at because the animation has such a personal touch to it and the characters have such personality in a fun, over the top way versus the 2.5 steroid freaks Capcom shoves down our throats today in order to please the casual market.

Vampire Savior is one of the greatest examples of how to make a fun, accessible, easy to pick up and play FG without sacrificing deep gameplay.
Very nice tutorial! I play a little bit of Lilith so this was kinda helpful for me.
Yo whats good wit GGPO? Got it to work for a while and then it just stopped. Can’t even log in now.
GGPO is utter crap for me lately. Constant frame skipping and lag issues with inputs making this game unplayable and downright unenjoyable.
I’ve been trying to get GGPO to work for a grip but it ALWAYS crashes when I want to input the controls! I WANNA PLAY SOME VS! HEEEEEEELP! 
how about setting the controls offline first? when you jump online, the game will transfer over the configuration. I don’t have the slightest clue as to why the game crashes right there but ggpo is really unstable. I’ve never hard it crash on me setting the buttons. Its free however and its better than anything else out right now so I’m not complaining.
Ironically when I dl-ed the newer version of GGPO it was fine for a few weeks then I started getting really weird glitches. Constant rollback even though connections were around 70ms, horrendous frame skipping even with stable connections and constant input jacking to the point where I would miss 10-15 iads a round.
From what I’ve fucked around with, there are some possibly small factors. Restart your PC when you want to use GGPO so your system closes out any unnecessary bullshit that could possibly be running in the background of your computer. Also, there seems to be a problem with the frame skipping thing. I specifically remember playing people who set their frame skip to 1 frame of input lag and mine was at 0. The game didn’t like that very much as it looked like utter shit on my side. You can try matching input lag with some people and that can make the connection better. Wouldn’t go past 1 frame though. Also, I noticed that the longer you play the more unstable the connection can become @ times. Usually if its acting like shit after 15-20 games, just close it out and reconnect.
Eventually it cleared up so I don’t know if it was GGPO, my ISP or perhaps it was raining hard where my connections takes hops @ but I know what you’re going through. I put down GGPO for about 2 weeks before I started playing again, shit is aggravating
Have you guys tried VS on Supercade? I’ve only played SF2:CE on it so far, but it seemed to be pretty good. My friend and I have been having a lot of trouble getting GGPO working, so I was looking for alternatives.
supercade has massive input delay for vampire savior to the point where its unplayable.
if you post up your problems with GGPO, I’m sure one of the VS players can help you work it out.

That’s exactly what I do, the rom runs fine until I try to set my buttons then the shit just crashes, shit’s aggravating!
Kinda wierd. I set my controls ion MAME and they register in GGPO. I don’t even know how that works.
Especially if you play a succubus. DI/LI are already a pain, plus Morrigan and Lilith are button input monsters… Online issues just makes everything worse. Playing as Jedah in lag is super stupid too, but playing as Talbain or Sas is ashamedly kinda fun :D. ROAWR!

that is some weird shit. I would delete GGPO off my computer, including the roms, and reinstall everything. Make sure you’re using the euro version of vampire savior. I know some of this may seem incredibly simple but I don’t know what you’ve tried so far. We can keep trying alternate solutions if this doesn’t work.
I’m down to play anyone but I’m pretty picky about the connections I play on. Really sucks to play on connections that start skipping and drop inputs. Shit makes me want to pull my hair out. @ the very least though, I’ll play a few games regardless of the lag.
