VA arcade (804 area, not opened yet) need suggesstions *I'm not the owner*

Ok first let me say that I don’t know all of the facts, but a classmate of mine mentioned that he and his family have plans for buying a building in Matthews Virginia and opening up an arcade.

I don’t know how intune my classmate is with the fighting game community so I’ll start by asking any people from around the 804 what games would you like to see at this place?

Let me know so I can hopefully pass along some suggesstions

At an arcade? DDR man. Fuck the fighting games. I don’t play that shit when I go to the arcade, I play DDR. I play fighting games when there isn’t DDR around. Plus, I never use a joystick. But, if you can make an option to plug in a psx pad into the arcade machine like they do for some tekken machines, then I’d most like to play 3rd Strike.

I live in Richmond, if you want to game, send me a PM.

oh yeah, gotta have DDR, no doubt. The reason I ask about fighting games is because dude has some serious ambitions for his place. He wants to pack in as many games as possible and maybe organize some tournaments down the road.

Matthews VA? Is that even in the 804 area code? I’ve heard of it but I have no earthly idea where it is.

I don’t want to rain on you or your friends parade, but if you’re going to open an arcade in the USA it has to be in a HIGH TRAFFIC area. That’s why there’s almost none left in this country.

As far as fighting games go, if you don’t have Street Fighter IV, that might be a problem, since it’s about to be the biggest thing to happen to fighting games in 10 years. If you can wind up with that one, it may give you a giant boost once people find out it’s there. I may be wrong but I don’t think there’s a Street Fighter IV machine in this state. Same story with Tekken 6, but I don’t think there’s even an American release of that game. As much as I hate to say it, you’ll probably also want a Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 machine, and probably Third Strike. Good luck getting this off the ground though…your friend has more guts than me.

Thanks for the input and trust me I feel your concerns about the area. I think Matthews is a deadzone for any business. I mean shit, I think a McDonalds around there closed cause it wasn’t making any money. I’m really sceptical about the success of the arcade but my classmate is determined to make it work.

Want ppl to come to the arcade…make sure they have up 2 date games…pump it up…ddr whackness…err and capcom and snk fighting games…and tekken
