Notes
The venue fee is $50 so if I don’t get enough entrants to cover the fee, it won’t happen.
Every game in the tourney pays the venue fee evenly. I don’t care if your game shows up with 4 people, you help pay the venue fee.
Notify me if you want a tourney just don’t show up randomly and expect it to be played.
Don’t expect me to run anything more than SSSF4.
Once SSSF4 tourney/casuals are over, I’m closing it so if you want to run something, run it before SSSF4 finishes.

uw is close i want in

meleeee rightttt?

I’d be so down for that. Looking to get my feet wet in the tournament scene =)

Blazblue has problems though. A lot of people have access to CS, but I don’t know if we’ll have enough setups (read: arcade boxes) to really hold a tournament for it.

I think the NorCal regionals are happening at the same time? Hopefully some people will stick around.

I really want to get a Marvel tourney going. One final hurrah for all the people that remember the HUB and its two machines and all the buttons and sticks we went through and toughed out being broken simply because we wanted to play more Marvel.

Jab is broken? Play Cyclops. Roundhouse is broken? Play Cable. Downback is broken? Hope you can kill Magneto before he can kill you.

Good times. Good times.

I’m interested in going, give me a date and time and I’ll be sure to show up. Smash and SSFIV work for me.

I am down for some SSFIV if it is on Xbox 360.

No chance of bumping the date up? Norcal Regionals is that weekend, and people are planning to attend that tournament.

Melee? Brawl?

Scuffle?

^thank you rob

If you need someone to pitch in, I’ll help since I’m on campus anyway. PM me if you need contact info or whatnot.

Suggestion though: If you do BB CS- legit setups only. If there’s not enough setups for CS, then CT is fine. I can bring copies for both Xbox and 360 if we need to do CT.

I know of at least one guy who can bring a legit CS setup. But… it’ll really depend on how many people want in on CS… CS matches take longer than they should.

Also maybe keep tabs on who’s bringing sticks/extra sticks. At Sakuracon there were like only two PS3 sticks and no 360 sticks (or maybe one guy had one, I don’t really remember… but I had to play pad Rachel and that sucked).

I would also like to bring my ghetto setup for streaming of BB (CS or CT whatever happens). If anyone has a problem with it or has better equipment (CS machine runs off of a Taito X2 setup), also lemme know.

The biggest worry right now is simply set ups. I’m trying to figure out how many PS3s/360s are available overall on the UW campus and who’d be willing to bring them in. As of right now, this is what I know:

Systems:
3 PS3s
3 360s
5 PS2s

Games:
2 SSFIV (PS3)
2 MvC2 (PS3)
1 SSFIV (360)
3 GGXX:AC
2 GGXX:AC+
2 MB:AA

1 MvC2 cab

As for what we’d be playing on, in all likelihood, I’d be asking students to volunteer to borrow the projector/screens through Classroom Support Services. The projectors they rent out are of very high quality and its completely free. Sticks are another issue. It’d be best if it were bring your own stick, but this isn’t entirely possible if we end up choosing PS3 over 360 or vice versa.

Finally, date wise: May 28/29th was chosen because it gives me the most time to look for sponsers, advertise, and just in general get more stuff ready.

omg melty blood lol!

yeah i’m down

The HUB is undergoing renovation? Cripes, been ages since I’ve been back then. Japan for 2 years and counting now. D= Shame I won’t be around, I’d totally be down for MvC2 if I was, broken Jab and RH and all!

I can bring copies of BBCT for both PS3 and 360 and uh… if any more copies are needed, I can probably arrange that (we have so many and we all play CS anyway…).

I’ll also bring my Hori EX2 for 360 (though it’s kinda crappy, but it works). I’ll ask Sparks if he’s interested in bringing his BBCS machine. We’d probably need a second machine to run the tourney though (depending on how many people… last tournament we did a 24 man with one cab just fine… it just took forever).

If we need more PS3s, I can probably ask around about that too.

The tournament has been moved back a week to Saturday the 22nd of May.

The general schedule of the tournament will be this:
12-3: Guilty Gear
3-4: Setup/casuals/food break/extra time
4-7: Melty Blood
12-7: Smash (Brawl as the main event, Melee if there’s extra setups/time)
12-7: SSFIV

Entry fee: 5$ per tourney

If enough extra PS3s/360s are brought, along with copies of Tekken 6 or Blazblue or MvC2, then a tournament may be held for those games as well.

Bring your own stick!

Dope I can play Super and Brawl at the same time :smokin: Hopefully I can put my imrpoved execution and mind games from SF to use in Brawl mixed with all that Brawl tounament experience from a while back. Should be interesting to see if I have improved or do terrible lol

When i used to play Smash a lot, it seemed that melee would fuck up my SF game, but I always played smash best right after SF.

Sweet, I’ll definitely be going to this one. I keep going to the HUB during my lunch break but no one’s ever there. So what systems are Guilty Gear, SSFIV, and BB/MvC2 going to be on? Time for some nostalgia before the big renovation shuts down the HUB.

I don’t really know what the console setups are looking like right now. I can say that if we do run MvC2, we’ll probably have it on PS3, since I know of two PS3s that have it, and I can get it onto a third by the time of the event. There’s also the main cabinet still down there, hopefully it’ll be repaired and be in proper condition by the time the day comes for a total of 3 (and an arcade cab) set up.

Guilty Gear will be run on the Wii. <_< Hope you have your Tatsunoko sticks!

Actually, PS2. Apparently, there aren’t any differences between the legal casts of GGXX:AC and AC+, so we’ll have plenty of setups there.
