I ordered my TE stick from AlternativeDVD.com and I don’t think they’re getting their shipment until the 22nd or something. I already have my own ArcadeInABox 360 custom stick and a Hori soul caliber stick I can bring.

I dunno…maybe posting schedules, preferred games, and equipment would be good, so we can better schedule get-togethers and tournaments. Utah Valley can hook up more with each other, and same with Salt Lake Valley due to proximity. Maybe get a little rivalry going…

Either way, we have enough for a good 16-team double elim tournament. With the Gamestop SF4 tournaments coming up, I’m sure we’ll be seeing even more people come out of the woodwork. If we can direct them to the forum…good times are ahead.
Maybe we should put this stuff in our signatures… ALSO!! more people should list their Gamertags in their User Control Panel so it appears under their name.

I’m in the Salt Lake valley. Not good for hosting because I have no Sony consoles and don’t have any games besides HD Remix and SF IV in the near future.
But I’m playing right now, waiting my turn in casual play. Add me, challenge me to a match. I have no idea exactly how bad I am, especially now that I’ve got a stick I’m kind of getting used to.
To Jizzz_frame: Did you work at a local arcade? PTC Tilt? Nickelcade?
Dunno. That may be good for announcing major Mountain Tournaments or Major Get-Togethers, though, and not just weeklies. Once we get a good scene going here, though, we should travel to and invite other states to come and play. Me thinks that this would be a bit down the road.

no it was actually in california (not svgl. im a scrub). the games it had there were mvc2, tekkens, cvs2, 3s, sf2, soul calibur.
i want to buy a joystick, but i dont like ball tops. im used to the american bat style. it seems as if all of the joysticks out and custom makers dont use those. thats why i prefer arcades.

I added a bunch of you fools on xbox live. Anyone else going to the Gamestop tourney on the 21st? I’m going to the store on Fort Union by super target, is anyone else going to the one by Best Buy on 114 South?
I’m free every night unless something unexpected comes up, my only real limitation is transportation. Getting to anywhere in the city or anywhere close to a Trax station wouldn’t be a problem, but I would probably have trouble getting down to Orem/Provo without a ride.
I can somewhat decently play 3s, ST/HDR, Arcana Heart(shut up, it’s fun) and will be playing SF4. As for sticks, I have an EX2 and 360 TE.
If I go to the Gamestop tourney it will be at Valleyfair, the manager there is pretty into fighting games. Might not go at all though, it’s a lot of effort for some sweatbands and maybe a fightpad.
Hey, it won’t just be for the swag (but if you don’t want it, I’ll take it ;))…you’d be looking for people that love SF but don’t know about SRK yet. I mean, if the manager is that into fighting games, tell him about SRK and the Utah forum.
To everyone, we need to ride this wave of SFIV momentum and hit as many different GameStop SFIV tournaments as possible. We then tell them about the SRK Utah forum and that there are people in Utah that care about SF apart from netplay and GameStop tournaments. I still need to sign up for the tournament at the Provo Towne Center. Even if I’m too late, I can go and meet some people and cheer them on, you know?
We should get a head count of who is going to which tournament, which locations are actually having tournaments, and all that.
Who knows. I’d be down with that; I’m all about the rivalry and competiton, like Utah/BYU, North/South…whatever. We probably need to establish who everyone is and have some fun first, though, then we can start hating each other. :chat:

as for the sf4 tournament, i was planning on going to ptc. cant you register the day of? or are there limited spots? are we trying to all go to different places? if so i have no trouble driving to one of the places in west valley.
Unfortunately, with my Agetec Stick on the fritz, I have no other arcade sticks for my Dreamcast. So unless someone has some DC sticks or 2 Total Control Plus converters, then we should be okay.
I also have PS2 Marvel.
I’ll be going to the Software Etc at Valley Fair Mall.
