Yeah, at the SF IV Ranbat? People play SF IV for the most part. That’s kind of how Ranbats are. The fact they are Ranbat tournaments based on that game is old news, should’ve read it better.
It sucks when a game you don’t like grabs a lot of players; this scene and the ranbats are highly SF IV centric, so it’s very difficult to mix other games. At one early casuals we did play 3S but it got awkward because three people knew everything about the game and everyone else knew nothing. As I said, it sucks.
But basically you’re coming across as someone who’s just hating. Would you go to the Halo boards or Halo leagues and start asking whether or not people will bring their PCs to play some Team Fortress 2, or something? No? Right.
Sounds like a lot of people here know you (the triplets mentioned you long before I saw anything on here about you), so if you’re really confused, I suggest talking to them in person; they could probably better explain what the scene’s really like and why, since they actually know you and everything. Many of us don’t, so we’re not really sure what vibes you’re really sending, you know?
I’d come for that. Hell. I’d come for both SF4 and Tekken. Both games are awesome.

Secondly I was informed that not only the ranbats, but ALL tourneys are going to be using the 360 only rule. Is there any way we can work around this? I am about to make a really nice stick and not being able to use it at any of the furture events kinda sucks. I mean I am not going to flip out and die. I am fine with the ranbats having the rule, but ALL tourneys? Just hoping we can somehow work around this for non ranbat events.
ALSO, when you say we are going to talk evo, I think we need to work out carpool (if anyone plans on doing it) plans as well.

I like it that you are trying to get into the scene. Let me give you some advice.
- If you are making a ps3 stick it’s cheaper and easier to use a chthulu board instead of a hacked ps3 pcb.
- Try to dual mod it for 360 and ps3 but I understand if cash is an issue.
- Are you modding an old stick or buying a new one? B/C building a new stick from scratch can be spendy more than buying a TE stick.
- Rules are this: All 360 all the time. I would love to cater to your specific needs but sometimes it’s easier to just make a stand. But hey dude, EVO is using ps3 so props to you b/c you’ll have your stick in hand.
- I hate sounding like a dictator but from our last vote/talks it seems going with one system is where it’s at. You are more than welcome to use any of my 360 sticks, I have a TE, SE, HRAP so finding one your comfortable with won’t be hard.
- WAIT, what do you mean all tourneys? Ranbat is 360 only, if you hold a tourney for something you can use whatever you like. But I don’t know what ou mean by all tourneys since there’s only one tourney going on…Sf4 ranbats

P.S. As far as friendlies, most of the gear being used is for the tourney. When we get down to lower brackets and less ppl playing. The back is open for casuals for any game SFHDR included. However both the front televisions are reserved for tourney only.

- Remember there are ppl with nicer cars who can drive and others whose cars will explode if they travel outside SLC. So the ones driving have the say on how much they want to load in.
- Although we are all great acquaintances, some ppl are more closer than others which will probably dictate who drives with who. Example: Thomas and Brian are great friends. The Triplets, Andrew, Dana have the Mormon thing going on together. Matty/Wade/Kelly are hellah gay for me. Chase/Oregon friend know each other.
- I might fly, sorry, I would love to get roadhead from Matty but I might be coming to Vegas from like Chicago.
- It seems you know Nathan pretty well, talk to him or maybe Wall.
- I’m staying in a hotel alone, I would like to get hookers in private.
- Remember $230 bucks I think I calculated to get here and stay.

Tournaments need to stay a single console only. Be it 360 or PS3. Mixing consoles in a tournament doesn’t work. nor does changing the console type from tournament to tournament. Not good to run all Ranbats on 360, and then turn around and tell people they need new hardware because the next tournament is on PS3. Just doesn’t work. One or the other. I don’t care which system we run as long as it is set in stone so I can get the equipment setup that I’m comfortable with.
And we’re always running a PS3 when we do casuals at Andy’s place.

Not just ranbats, but we haven’t seen you at any casuals yet either… We don’t charge anything for those.

Strider is a top 8 or top 5 contender for sure, but he may have some problems with Kelly’s Rog (esp. if he doesn’t turtle too much and turns on the aggressive) and he’ll definitely have his work cut out for him for le Guille and el Fraggat.

I don’t think that sf4 sucks, but nor do I nut-hug the shit out of it (btw, now I’m bein a dick…). I spent a lot of time playing lots of fighting games, beatin the hell out of those who underestimated me, or were too cocky for their own good, I am a confident man, & I am open to any fighting game (even sf4:arazz:) & I’m willing to come get that money in a game that I suck in, because I am that type of person to do so. I just figured that there were people who were about fighting games. I like sf4, just not in love with it like most ppl are, it still has to intrigue me.

1- If someone didn’t know about 3s for example, I’d teach em because they would like it & make the FG community grow. If someone with that person asked me to show them how to get a fast time in TTT (ala Kelly, lulz), I’d do the same. It keeps interest in these games that we play. Maybe you lived in an area where it wasn’t popular, maybe you didn’t try to ind competitors like you could have, maybe laziness was a factor…
2- How ya’ll make it seem that its soooo fantastic, is the fact that you look at how many ppl play it, & only look at the quality of it through a) magazine/online reviews. b) by knowing who plays it. c) the turnout, or how many ppl play it.
We’re in an age of forgetfulness where the new is amazing to the eyes & the old that it derived it from ain’t shit no more.
