Utah Thread: Arcade Edition @ GameGrid

Yo Gents, Game crazy just called me and they have recieved a shipment of T.E. sticks.

Just thought I would let you know.

T

Eureka!!!

I called every Game Crazy today except for Tooele and Mike at the West Jordan store is by far the most helpful employee I’ve ever dealt with. Every store pretty much told me to fuck myself except for Mike. On the phone he told me he’d work to get me one from any store he could in the nation. He said, come down and pay the $6 up front for reserving and shipping costs and he’d find me one and have it transferred to his store.

I got off at 1PM and drove down there thinking the guy was full of shit, and right when I walk in I was like, are you Mike? I called earlier… He’s like “yeah, guess what came in minutes after we talked on the phone”… He pulls out a **PS3 TE **stick. He knew I wanted a 360 one but he said he saved it for me cause I told him I was coming in earlier anyway… So I bought it on the spot.

Then he proceeds to try and find me a 360 stick, I tell him I called everywhere. He’s like, “did you call Tooele, my roommate works there and I think they have one.” I said no… So Mike calls up Tooele and sure as shit… they have a 360 TE stick there, and he’s having his roommate transfer it to his store at no cost to me… A fuckin… Mike is a bad ass.

… now here’s my dilemma… Sell the PS3 TE stick to make up the money I lost in breaking my Arcade in a Box, or keep it for EVO (if i go)…

haha i found two te sticks today TL is picking up one and it sounds like u got the other chase

oh well i got one coming from cedar city now cuz i want 2 even tho im unemployed haha

p.s. chase sell that bitch to someone we know you wont make very much selling it for more now that they are sending more out to meet the demand anyway (trust me i know haha) and i think andy knows someone who needs one

what store yo?.. I called the 4 nearest to Taylorsville and none of them have any…

This was the west valley store 4111 w 3500 s. 801968-9183

well fuck me… what store is TL picking his up at?

I just called that place before you posted and some black guy told me they didn’t have any, haven’t had any recently, and that they’d probably never get them in again. The 5443 S Redwood Rd told me they just sold one this morning…

I called… every one of these stores at 11:30 and they all told me that they wouldn’t get any in… god damn Liars… Mike at the West Jordan store is the only guy who was willing to help.

West valley location.

How’d you know it was a black guy over the phone?

Wait wha? TE PS3 stick this morning? 360? I just bought PS3 TE stick from there the other day. Game Crazy. Some guy who kept going on and on and on and on and ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooon about the Madcatz warrenty and how they “screwed up their first shipments”. Blaaaah.

Utah Street Fighters Unite

I’m currently trying to set up a Street Fighter 4 scene in Utah (Northern more specifically, but anyone is welcome). If you yourself, or anyone you know anyone around the Salt Lake City, Ogden, Provo area would be interested in getting together, please let me know. I’d like to organize some meets and hopefully some tournaments as well.

I’ve got an Arcade here that I’m talking about getting this set up. Unfortunately at the moment he doesn’t have a single SF4 machine. Due entirely to budget constraints, as his arcade is newly created. So we’ve discussed possibly setting up consoles with Fightsticks (and pads) on large HD TVs for the time being. He was originally going to wait for the game to release on PC (as his arcade is also a LAN center) but that won’t be until around june/july. Of course, depending on the amount of interest I can gather and the support from the community, I’m sure it wouldn’t be difficult to get a hold of some actual arcade cabinets and boards.

I believe that with Street Fighter 4’s launch on the consoles, the time is ripe for not only a full blown Street Fighter mania to sweep the nation… but a revival of the local arcade as a hot spot. So many kids these days just hang around gas stations and fast food joints. Why not an arcade!?! The time is now!

So please, if you know anyone, or have the ability to pass the word along to a broader audience. Please, let me know!

Thanks

-Derek

LoL. I called again and the black guy keeps telling me they didn’t receive any shipment. haha. I don’t want to call anyone a liar, but fuck.

I’m 99% sure it’s a big black dude with a deep ass gangster voice… sounded pissed both times. Someone else wanna call for fun?

I work at the Gamestop up in Layton, I was able to special order myself a 360 TE stick. If you guys are interested I can poke around at work and make some calls and see if I can hook you guys up as well. Send me a PM if you’re interested, and PLEASE send me a PM if you’re interested in setting up some SF4 gatherings and Tourneys, because as I said above, we need to get the Utah Street Fighter community up and running.

So I called and asked if the guy was black. He said no.

Just called them Flex… no dice.

LOL… i just had my sister call… and the guy laughed at her saying there ain’t any in the state of utah… she’s 15… Yeah… and she said it sounded like a white guy… so maybe I was wrong. so fucking funny.

Not to be rude, but have you read any of the thread at all? What do you think we are already doing? We have close to 50 people already and at least 20 of them going to each tournament every other week with new people every time.

For sure though, the North area seems like it needs to get together more, maybe then Dark Catalyst will crawl out of Logan and play some.

ROFL

Lame! Wanted a PS3 TE stick, but have to give my friend back that $150 for the broken SE stick. Going to swap back in the MadCatz parts this afternoon and try to return it. Hope they take it back.
