Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls…we’ve hit the magic number: 50. 50 people on the books for UTSF. Granted, not all have actively participated, but we’re working on it. We’ve led the horses to water of SF4, but how do we get everyone to drink? With that, we have 7 new people that have thrown down with us this week and I barely know any of them. Travis is Brians brother, Phil got to Round 2 of the Gamestop tournament in Riverton, and Renzo plays a good Fuerte. That’s all I got. Too many people, too little time. Great to have you!

$115…that the total money pot totalled from Ranbat 1.2 at Andy’s house last Saturday. Beginning at 7pm sharp…ish…old and new faces from all along the mighty Wasatch and parts beyond converged to prove that they’re not just Live gods but can win in real life. Brian’s Family Man (Guile) is beginning to show some cracks in the armor, but not enough to knock him out of first place. He fought his way through the winners bracket to face Andrew and Pirate Phelps (Sagat) in the finals but again proved to be too much. Dana showed his shorn dome for the first time in the top rankings, placing 3rd with Rose and the ElectricMayhem (Blanka), a spot normally reserved for the BronzeBalrog, Kelly, whose Boxer slipped to 5th place this week behind Mike and his eclectic mix of Blanka, Rose, and E.Honda.
Matty’s Dhalsim provided some “Holy @#$%!!” moments during the night, with the Yoga Catastrophe’s strange hitbox on Sagat’s crouching jab (Andrew) and comboing Sim’s super from a combo. A small controversy that has since been resolved, and should be read and understood: RANBATS ARE ON 360. Short discussion. Lot’s of Fuerte’s that night which is always a good thing. Variety is the spice of life, after all, and Fuerte’s one spicy chef. Surprising no-shows…the Bleyl’s, due to work and other committments. More Lariats to come in the next Ranbat, I’m sure. Also, the twins, Bobby and Johnny, were not in attendance due to an obligation to attend the World Cyber Gamers SF4 championship in NYC. We’ll forgive you…if you bring back souvenirs and pics.
GG to all that showed, both new and old. It’s getting more and more difficult to keep up with all the new blood, but that’s not a bad thing at all. Look up the videos on Matty’s YouTube page and study up, kids. Ranbat 1.3 is only 2 weeks away, so bring your A game.
