Just saw this and I still disagree. Are we running Xbox 360 or PS3? Running two consoles in tournaments is ghetto shit, and leads to fucked up situations. I’m still butt hurt over last night. Feel like I was boned out of a top 5 or 6 placing. I don’t want to create drama, but it’s retarded to tell people to bring their controllers that they’re comfortable with (stick or pad), and setting configs prematch is no problem, and then at some point telling a person they have to switch to an unfamiliar controller because some dude prefers something on the other console. Fucked up. I still can’t figure out why we are running a single PS3 when 90% of the players are on Xbox.
I agree with matty honestly. Should only be one system. And while even I mostly play on the PS3, the majority plays on 360 so it should just be that. In fact when I eventually get the money for my own system, I’m going for the 360 first just because more people use it. I bet the online play is even better as far as finding matches.

There’s a 360-PS3 converter which sounds interesting. If it’s a good no-lag converter, then this may be a win-win for everyone so that PS3 pad players can stick with what they use best, and 360 stick players can stick with their best equipment. It is, unfortunately, a $65 answer…kinda pricey. This may be more of an answer for EVO and their lame choice to go PS3 on everyone, even in the face of much higher 360 ownership.
I had a longer post, but it should be the hosts’ decision. 360 exclusive, PS3 exclusive, a mix of both…whatever. The host decides the format, and everyone adapts. The prudent choice would be 360 exclusive as most everyone has a 360, but since the host is putting up the goods, they can decide how things go down. Of course, it could hurt future tournaments, but whatever. I’d go with 360 exclusive as well, but that’s me.
It sucks to feel like you got screwed out of a legitimate shot at a higher ranking because you couldn’t use your gear, though. I didn’t use my Hori DOA4 stick that I use all the time; I used TE’s on both PS3 and 360, but that’s an upgrade for me. It probably helped my game!

Do NOT FUCKING BUY any 360 to ps3 converter or vice versa, OR YOU WILL DIE. Nah just playing, seriously though I’m a big forum tech talk nerd and those converters all suck according to Mark Man. If you want details, then I could pm you links to reviews and such.
Yeah, I was trying to be a nice guy and use ps3/360 to accomodate ppl. However, I really don’t give a fuck about being a nice guy anymore. So we are gonna use the 360 exclusively for the ranbats. . .we can take a vote but it won’t matter b/c only kyle, thomas, matty, kelly, and dana will vote.
The only ps3 only ppl I know are let me see. . .Brian. . .Phil. . .Paul. . .and I know for a fact they could care less as long as there are abundant TE sticks on the 360 which there are.
So all in all, none of the 3 above will ever HOST, even if they did they can’t accomodate enough ps3 systems or sticks so fuck HOST decides. Let Andy decide, trust me I’m a doctor.
360 only tournaments now, we’ll have 2-3 xbox360 systems from now on. If it’s my house, I’ll have the ps3 and small LCD in the back for casuals with a TE and VSHG.

Have one already. I use it for Killzone. Not tournament worthy because it can randomly stop working at any time, and you have to unplug it and plug it back in to get it working.
Host’s decision? So every time a Ranbat changes venue we can have new rules? Don’t like the sound of that at all.

While I agree with Matty totally…dude, you should have said something right then and there if you thought it was going to be a problem. I think Andy asked you before the second match if you wanted to move to the 360 to use your stick and you said it was fine where you were. Speak up man!

I did say something. I was pretty much told we could split the games between PS3 and Xbox, which is just as shitty. What happens when it goes to a 3rd match? Who gets to use their shit at that point? And when people are told they can bring their own hardware why should I ever have to use anything different? Two consoles just doesn’t work. It would have been a shitty situation for one person or the other no matter how we tried to work it out. I just played the matches and got it over with. I didn’t want to get into a huge argument at the Ranbat. I just hope something like this won’t happen again…
And yeah, I’m probably the only stick user that has a horrible time migrating between different sticks, but we did have 360 pad user(s) there also, such as Renzo. What if he was matched up with Brian’s brother instead of me? Same situation.

After reading your response, my stance concerned all gatherings, but for Ranbats, I’d support 360 exclusive. That way everyone can plan and get their gear and game in order.
Hey guys, i’m thinking about having some casuals at my house on thursday night. If anyone is interested please say so. Some things to note though. I do have a 360, but don’t have SF4 for it so somebody would need to bring the game and their hard drive. Also I only have 1 TV so it would be great if someone could bring an lcd if at all possible so that we could have 2 games going at once.
But yeah, if anyone is interested it would be a lot of fun
