lol, well ur not far off… i came to MX to visit some relatives that i haven’t seen in a long time, and i already spent way too much money on alchohol :wasted: (tequila is too fuckin cheap here…) there’s a town called “Tequila” not too far from here (u can guess where the name came from) i actually plan on taking a couple of bottles from there, this shit is too damn good 
Also two videos of Wade and Chase up. I think we’re the only ones that recorded anything. I picked the best 2 or 3 videos of each set and threw them up. 5 videos total. Going to stop there since the ppv is starting and we didn’t name the videos very well. Too much time finding the good ones.

I say we keep the ranbat scheduled for Saturday. I would imagine that most people are counting on Saturday ranbats. Seems to be the only way it fits into anyone’s schedule.
Also, I posted a flyer on the blog. It isn’t very detailed, but I still don’t have much info other than time/place. If you need more info added, let me know and I’ll update it.

Dang, take a few days off from the forums and I have to go through a few pages just to get back up to speed. Things move fast.
I’ve been spending time with my mistress…er, Blanka…in Ranked Matches. That, and fixing my Hori DOA4 stick. A good Guile gave me the business the other night, and since I didn’t have a table to pound, guess what I chose? My Fierce overhead cost me the use of my fierce punch for the match and the day. The PCB actually broke, and the yellow button would only register inputs occasionally once I resoldered the wires from the button to the PCB, so I took a button from the PS3 Madcatz Fightstick I just bought from GS today, soldered those wires, and it works just fine now. (Mike, if you can take pictures of the inside of your stick, I might be able to help you. Or, if nothing else, I’ll look at it the next time I see you. I’ll try to bring my soldering gear.)

Doesn’t really matter to me about the Ranbat. If we use the U tourney I could see it making it hard for the people outside of Salt Lake to attend. I work right by the U and will probably just barely make it in time.
LOL I didn’t buy the stick for a button; I wanted another good stick, and now I have one for both systems. It’s just that now one is missing a button. 
They also have a Wii Hori stick for $40 that I’m still drooling over.
I’ve also been reading up on how to put 2 PCB’s into one stick while only using one cord, and the SE stick is roomier than the EX2/DOA4 style stick, so it could accomodate another PCB. The process doesn’t seem to complex, but I’m a bit nervous to do it just the same.
I probably should count to 10, but I’d probably break something else before I even got to 10. And that something else will one day by my hand.
But hey, I’m hovering around 5100 BPs right now…and I’ll say this, the level of competition is pretty good at these levels. Lots of Zangiefs, Balrogs, and Ryu’s, with a smattering of Sagats, Blankas, Kens, Chuns, and an occasional Zangief. Last night, I fought two different Gens…that was fun. Very defensive, few mistakes, high-damage punishment. There are a few scrubs that make it that far, but not many.
Dual PCBS always work better if you use an initial 360 stick and then add ps3 pcb (most ppl seem to put in a chthulu board) from all I’ve read while using an imp board. It does look daunting however I know you can fit it into an SE stick, there’s a huge thread on it.
You are at 5000 BP; shit I’ve played 5 online rank matches this week but playing casuals 4 times this week but Kelly burnt me out with just the first 2 casuals, couldn’t even play the last 2 days b/c so tired. But it’s fun watching others play and dissing them.
Dana, read your post again about lots of zangiefs and the occasional zangief. . .Who is Gen. . .never even heard of that character lol. Mike picked him tonight and I was like. . .dude I haven’t seen that character in years.

And we can’t up and change the discussed format for the ranbats. I usually have to request days off/changes a month in advance and this upcoming one and the last one are pretty difficult to attend. We can plan for future ranbats 1.3 and beyond at the next ranbat. Really, we should have the next location planned already!
Also, any tourneys on Tue/Wed/Thurs I can’t attend because of work and school from 6am to 9:30-10:30pm ;_; The only time I really get to play is when we meet up for casuals or tourneys.
?Yeah, I agree. I mean, I’m not knocking anyone because I haven’t done anything to help plan a location or anything. But we should try to be a few weeks ahead with the ranbat planning.
Speaking of which… Andy, are you hosting the next ranbat? I’d like to update the site with the next ranbat location. I figure that I’m really pushing it by only giving it six days between site update and the actual event!

What do you guys want, Ranbat be the University tourney on Thursday at 6 pm or separate Ranbat this upcoming Saturday? I know a bunch of you are lurking the forums but just aren’t responding besides Kelly and Kyle. Seems they both want Saturday. I could make the decision for you but I want to be democratic about this. We’ll decide by the end of the day! Please vote guys
As far as organizing when next ranbat will be, Thanks Nate for stepping up and hosting on May 23rd and posting early. As far as next ranbat location, default will be my place on Saturdays around 2 pm unless someone steps up or I’m not available.
I really DO NOT MIND hosting however it would be nice if we changed it up sometimes. I have talked to the Play N Trade owner in Sugarhouse and he wants to host ranbat 1.3 however we need to talk about it b/c it gets kinda complicated.
Guys, I’m serious. For this community to work, it’s about ppl stepping up and taking action and voicing what they can do and how they can help. I understand that some of you will NEVER be able to host whether it be lack of space, children in he household, or other ppl living in your house and THAT’S FINE. But I’m sure some of us can host, can contribute, but are not stepping up to the plate.
Like I said, I don’t mind hosting a bulk of these ranbats but if that’s the case then ppl need to at least weigh in to a basic FUCKING question like: where do you want the next ranbat 1.2, the University on Thursday at 6 pm or this Saturday my house???

Actually, I don’t give a fuck. At next ranbat, I’m gonna call you out straight up in person unless you post your reasons why or why you aren’t stepping up. Please all it takes it a reponse like:
“Fuck you Andy, I have kids, my wife will kill me if I host tourney. I want the next ranbat 1.2 on Saturday and I can bring one chair and half a bottle of rum.” OR
“Hey dude, I can host. However I want the tourney this Thursday, and I can bring one LCD but the power doesn’t work b/c it’s a Westinghouse.”
Last suggestion, if you guys can find a cheap venue like for 50 bucks or less for all day i.e. like some hotel or LAN center. I don’t mind putting up the cash at all.

I’m definitely going this Saturday (If it is still on and not at the U, which I cannot attend), but I can’t be there any earlier than 4pm barring some miracle that my boss lets me off early.

If I didn’t have kids I could host one here in Tooele, but I don’t think it would work anyways, old house, bad electrical…sometimes I plug in the vacuum and the entire basement resets LOL!
I’m all for democracy, but you have to figure that the people who aren’t speaking up are either indifferent about the situation, or they are still planning on Saturday. I’d like to post the final details about the ranbat around 10pm tonight, so let’s get this worked out!
On a related note, I would be more than happy to host ranbats/tourneys at my house. I have plenty of room to facilitate such an event, although I would try to urge a couple of you to bring TVs and consoles. However, the SLC tourneys make more sense from a geographical perspective, seeing as how it would be quite a drive for all the Provo/Orem guys. Just know that the offer stands.
And yeah, help me get a head count for the next ranbat. I’m figuring that most of you are still planning on a Saturday ranbat. Just SOUND OFF, GENTLEMEN! All you have to do is speak up, and it will go a long way in helping us plan the next event.
I’m scheduled for my first Saturday this upcoming Saturday and get off at 4 (or earlier if it’s slow, but that’s highly unlikely).
I can’t make Thursday 'til 6:30 because I have to pick up the missus from her work.
I CAN host. There a few things to note:
Only own like 7 chairs plus one futon, that’s not enough seatage. Can someone bring chairs?
Only have one TV and one 360, so sticks and electronics would need to be brought over. Also don’t have Gouken or Seth on my box.
I live really close to Andy and a freeway exit (Parley’s Way), so location is in reach for everyone (at least everyone who has been to Andy’s).

Oh yeah, I guess this would also be a good time to give my input for starting times…
On Saturdays, I don’t get off until 5:00pm. I can sneak out a little earlier sometimes, but that isn’t the most professional way for me to run a business, haha. So, I would ask that we postpone starting times until 6:00pm. If it’s absolutely necessary, I’ll move some shifts around during the week and make somebody work for me on Saturdays, but I don’t want to rob anyone of their weekend family time just so I can play Street Fighter. 
Oh well, just my input. I’m willing to do what the community wants to do as a whole. I’ll adjust the best I can, but it would be nice for us to establish some specific times. It would really help a lot of us plan accordingly.
Thanks for input Mike, Kelly, and Kyle. Yeah like I said, I’m sure most of you are laid back and indifferent which is fine. Place your input on what day you want it. I’ll tally shit up.
IF it is on Saturday, then we’ll just have it at my house. I found a new way to organize my shit to make it a big roomier. I found a great place to hold shit for the future if things work out, I mean a giant venue hopefully.
