Small lil tourney was nice and well done by Kelly.
Congrats to Jake who took first, Mike got second, and Kelly third. Unfortunately I ate big black Balrog balls early in the tourney (thanks Kelly).

Welcome to slcs14, LordBiff, coldshadow! With slcs14, we’re now at 24 people. Nice. As always, check these forums everyday to know what’s going on with gatherings, tournaments, etc. so you’re not out of the loop. Also, Uglyduckling started a Street Fighter: Utah players unite!! Facebook account, where others not of the SRK group have joined as well. Check it out.
GS tournament Round 3: awalk002 (Andrew) and coldshadow (Brian) both represented Utah at the Gamespot Tournament in Glendale, AZ this week. A Balrog player beat Andrew’s Sagat in the 2nd match, taking him to the 5 round, and Brian went all the way to the finals with Guile and lost to an Abel in the 5th round. Andrew took videos of those two matches, and they’re available on his Facebook account for anyone interested. Good match videos, and good showings by Utah players. Thanks, guys!
Tournament at Andy’s house, 3/14: 9 people showed, one survived. Uglyduckling (Jacob) showed everyone why his 'Gief is to be feared, winning the double elimination tournament. After being sent to the losers bracket in the first match by his brother’s Blanka, he came up through the ranks to play against Etelmik (Mike) in the finals and beat both Blanka and M.Bison to take it. Mike placed 2nd and Konqrr (Kelly) and his 'Rog finished with 3rd. This is the first tournament held by the group, and it sounds as though it went well. Let’s keep it up!
U of U tournament: Hadouken (Andy) told us about a U of U tournament coming up on the 24th. Details are subject to change as Andy finds out more.
Venue: University of Utah campus at the U-Center (cafeteria place)
Date: March 24th, 2009 (Tuesday) at 5:00 PM
Entry: ONE DOLLAR
System: Xbox 360
Misc: They will provide sticks MAYBE, BUT you can bring your own
Prize: Supposedly, winner takes pot and other expensive prizes will be available.
Hey, after the GS tourney, any tournament where you can bring your own sticks and not be forced to use stock controllers automatically rises to the top. Lets get a list of who’s planning on attending and have some more gatherings to prepare. I’m planning on going, but schedules always seem to change. Who’s with me?

The trip to AZ was a blast. I had alot of fun. I got to meet Andrew, he’s a cool guy and has got a very good Sagat. 
I’ll definitely go to the U of U tournament on the 24th.
I wonder…how hard would it be to have a Utah SF YouTube page? And/or how useful?
We could record our own matches, upload them to the page, and have others compliment/critique our game. During the TTT days, I’d go OG and record myself on VHS, then watch my tendencies. It helped me improve my game quite a bit; I got better at mixups and unpredictability.
