Man, those Hard challenges with Guile are true to form: hard. I finally passed 4 and 5 last night, “and all I got was this lousy title.” Meh.
Here’s another question, because it’s fun to know: Who are your 1st and 2nd (and 3rd, 4th, etc.) characters and why? I’m pretty sure that Guile is my 1st. Yeah, on the “tier” lists, he’s pretty low, and I know why (weak Ultra, low damage, risky crossup, etc.) but I’ve logged in the most playtime with him and I’ve got the best feel for him out of any of the other characters. Good, solid knowledge of a character and the matchups is worth a high tier ranking I think. Plus, you can’t diss a family man with that kind of hair.
I thought that Gen would be 2nd, but I just tried out Rose last night and I’m turning into a fan. So far, she feels like a Guile with better freedom of movement, a good crossup Forward, USEFUL and EFFECTIVE Ultra and Super combos, and decent pokes. I’m not sure about the Soul Throw anti-air yet, but it can’t be any worse than the Flash Kick. Time will tell. I think it’s nice to finally use a non-charge character…charge characters are hard on the hands, at least they are on mine.
My characters would be Viper, Ryu, Bison, and Chun Li.
Don’t have a pecking order established yet, but I can play Abel, Ryu, Bison, Gief, and Akuma.
Main will probably be Abel or Akuma unless something severe happens.
I’m there for the UofU tourney.

You should definitely get a stick that uses Sanwa parts or even buying a cheap Hori and converting it to Sanwa stick/buttons. It really is like night and day how much better Sanwa parts are.
DANA! That title is the best one there is…Guile #5 gets you the “Family Man” title! I’m only not using it right now because I did Gen’s #5 (o_O) and have to use that one for awhile now due to how much stress I endured to land that combo.
My main is Balrog, I’m good with him but watching videos of Gootecks and other great Balrogs, I have a lot of work to do. My second is Guile, I’ve always been a Guile player…since WW to be exact. C.Viper is my third, she is just too cool of a character. After that, I like Honda, Cammy, and Akuma.
All you Gief players, pressing 3P or 3K is banned from now on

Good games Chase. Made me feel a lot better after yesterday, which was by far my worst day of playing EVER.
Getting all excited about what the Utah playerbase is turning into…completely fits the model I had in mind back in '01 when I met up with Jake here on SRK.

MAS stick is straight up oldschool. For some reasons, ppl who play MVC2 think it’s gods gift. I do prefer sanwa for all games, but some ppl love octagon/circle gates and stiff ass springs.

Tomorrow I’m riding down to AZ to go to three spring training games and to see how i fare at the competition on Saturday in Glendale. I’m nervous but whatever.

I prefer Sanwa for the majority of fighting games.
Perfect 360s are nice for games like Marvel. Sanwa/Seimitsu buttons are the best for buttons, though.
