sorry if these sound like dumb questions. i havent really played console fighting games in a long time. so if i get an arcade in a box with everything in it that id want, that would play ps3 and x360 thatd be around $300. Just ps3 would be around $200. From arcade shock it would be around $180.
id get the one from arcade shock, but that would only play dreamcast and ps2. would it be hard to get converters to play xbox or ps3 that work well? i mean i hear that there is a lot of lag.
if i were to make one myself would it be possible to make it for multiple systems?
You can make it yourself more multiple PCBS. You kinda need to know what your doing. I would not do converters if I were you, they seem to fuck up alot and sometimes if you break your converters they are tough to replace.
You should borrow one of my cheap sticks for the xbox 360 and see how you like it first. Stick is best but not for everyone.
Don’t go investing in an expensive stick if you won’t use it. PS3/360 both have 60 dollar range sticks you can use, I have one for the 360 I could let you borrow.

well i had a friend who made his own stick and i used that. and ive been using stick a whole lot more since i worked in an arcade for many years.
i really appreciate your willingness to let me borrow the stick, but that was really what i wanted to avoid in the first place, borrowing sticks. as far as pad goes, im just about as good at pad as a (perfect 360) stick for tekken. cvs2, not so much but im okay. i just wanted SOMETHING to not have to bum sticks. i actually considered just getting two fightpads (ps3 and x360) but i havent heard many good things.

I noticed the sign up sheet at the PTC GS yesterday when I picked up my copy of SFIV. 12 people, and #13 was in the process of signing up. The guy behind the counter was saying that he thought he knew of a couple of “hardcore” types that had signed up so far, so I asked, “Was I one of those guys?”
Judging by his “Yeah…sure, dude” reaction apparently I don’t look SF hardcore. So I need to win so I can start rocking the Ryu headband 24/7. LOL Maybe I’ll just dye a long white tube sock some Ryu-red and tie it around my head; that’ll clinch it.
Anyway, it should be fun. Win or lose, it’ll be cool to meet more SF players. Who knows? Maybe these “hardcore” types (or even the novices!) will want to keep this thing alive even after the GS stuff is over. Just remember to invite, invite, invite!
I won’t be able to go to tourney on Saturday b/c i’m working from 6 am to 6 pm. So hope you guys do well. Again gathering at my house today, BRING YOUR STICKS.

I have HD remix and SF4 for my PS3. I only have a PS3 pad though which kinda sucks. I may have to just buy both sticks but I cant affor right now. SO is Anyone with a PS3 Stick/pads going to be at the “tourney” this saturday at Lordluxons?

On a second note, I am having trouble getting into SF4s “groove” I main blanka and I struggle pretty badly on learing his stuff through challenge mode. Example"Strong Punch into EX special" I just cant get the timing right to save my life!!

i first thought about going to ptc. then i thought id go to west valley to spread everyone out. but hearing about the “hardcore types” that are going to be at ptc is making me excited. im going to get my butt kicked as i will have never touched the game and am not really even a capcom player, but i still want to see how bad these badasses are …
also, since im going to ptc (i figure i will just show up, there are 64 slots and if only 14 or so are signed up then i should be good i suppose) i might play some marvel in the theater beforehand. its too bad you arent going dash. the marvel there is not good. but it was playable i think. ive only played on it once.
