A buddy of mine can’t really decide who to play in AE, so recently he decided to do nothing but random select picking to help him find the character that he can play.
I think he’s out of his F’N mind! What do you think?
Whatever works
I’d say just hit training mode with randoms until you’re comfortable with someone. Watching videos and streams help too; they give you a sense of a character’s mechanics. And by that, I mean for your friend.
its a better approach than posting a stupid thread to ask people to pick your main for you

I don’t get it.why does it matter if he uses random select to try and find a main?saves him the trouble of deciding who to try out next.now if he did random select once and said ok thats my main.then that would be kinda odd.but to each their own
Well, I tried that once before and it didn’t go well for me. I kept getting embarrassed by other players. So, I don’t see how this will go well for my pal.
If you are playing casually, I don’t see why you should be embarrassed.
Hell, I found new characters to play though Random select.
Try everyone on the roster at least a few times to get a general feel for the character. After that, your buddy will have narrowed it down to a couple of characters to see which one he will main. Then practice some more.
I mained Fei in Vanilla, then that C to shining C achievement seemed fun, the second last character I finished getting to C class I liked more than anyone else. Kinda took me by surprise to be honest.
I spent a long time random selecting during this too. He is on the right track as someone else said.
Tell him to pick who ever he thinks looks cool.
