Using a Seimitsu Bubble top on a Sanwa stick

Is it possible to use the Bubble Top (LB-39), a 35mm ball made by Seimitsu on a Sanwa joystick? Could I exchange the tops, or are they different? I’d be exchanging it with a JLF-TP-8YT-SK joystick top.

As a side note, could anyone explain why the JLF-TP-8YT-SK is basically the JLF-TP-8YT but with a shaft cover, but costs less money?

Thanks for any help on either question! Appreciate it.

Yes I think you can.

Which shop is this. I checked Lizard Lick and their JLFs are all priced at $25.95. Also, I believe that the JLF-TP-8YT-SK does not include the wiring harness, that and last I checked, the ones at Modchipman didn’t come with mounting plates (which could explain their formerly cheaper price there - until they dropped the price on the JLF-TP-8YT).

Yes you can.

Yes it will fit.

As for the question on price, maybe JLF-TP-8YT is the more popular OEM product on arcades? Anyway, don’t complain

Akihabarashop sells JLF-TP-8YT-SK cheaper than JLF-TP-8YT by 100 Yen.

d3v, our JLF’s are 24.95… Sanwa has a bunch of part numbers for JLF’s, but they’re all the same stick at the core… We’ve got a page that we did before the 8YT-SK was born, it tells you the difference between the various models:

http://lizardlick.com/pages/sanwa_jlf_faq.shtml

The difference between the 2 on our site is, the 8T has a harness and no shaft cover; the SK has a shaft cover and no harness, and the PCB is turned 90 degrees… Right now, the SK is the more popular model, due to all of the MadCatz SE sticks out there that people are modding…

And yes, the bubbletops will fit all of the Japanese sticks, except for the JLW-UM…

Does the increased weight on the bubbletop (30g) vs the standard Sanwa ball top (27g) slow down the JLF spring’s return to the neutral position?

Yep it fits, Did it to mine this morning

Probably but by such a small amount that it wouldn’t even be noticeable.
