What happens if I were to buy the GFWL version of Ultra Street Fighter IV would I still be able to convert it to the steam servers? I ask because it is cheaper AND I have Amazon vouchers to make use of? I have tried researching but all the info related to converting was from months ago and seem to suggest there might have been a deadline. Thanks for the help people.
To the best of my knowledge, there isn’t a GFWL version of USF4. GWFL shut down so USF4 was made to be played from Steam (all the servers were switched to steamworks). It is possible to use the GFWL Arcade Edition version (if you can still buy it, that is) and upgrade it to Ultra for $15 on steam.
Unless you’re referring to buying the CD-code and then activate the CD-code on steam? If possible, could you provide a link to where you’re considering purchasing it?
I was thinking of getting it from here
I looked through the page to see if I could find other people saying if they redeemed it on steam, and I can’t find anything. From what I can see, it looks like it’s the stand alone game; so you should be able to get the CD-key from your purchase and use it on steam?
Don’t quote me on that, it’s up to you. There’s a risk to it if you’re not able to, because then you won’t be able to play online. Sorry I couldn’t be of more help. Good luck!
Well all the existing GFWL owners of SSFIV were automatically updated to the steam version once it was completed…so i would believe you would be updated automatically as wellonce you attempt to go online with your oudated version then once your SSFIV is up to date then you should be able to buy Ultra. .or since that physical disc is ultra i would suppose it will update itself to steam version
There won’t be any migration because that copy would already be the Steam version.
If you don’t have Steam, or a Steam account, i’ll most likely install Steam and ask you to make a Steam account.
