Derrick Legend is one of the few “big” names that i’ve had the chance to play, I was not impressed by his play, he has terrible fundamentals and horrible defense.

i think there’s gonna be a big bump in Rose,Sagat,Gief,and Feis online in the next few days. Not like your average person will perform anywhere near what we saw in evo tho.
Yea I played Neo in person when he was down here in Louisiana. He’s solid when he needs to be.

I’m curious about what people think about the Rose vs. Fei matchup.
Luffy no doubt has a ton of Fei experience, but someone mentioned that he basically has never lost to Mago ever, and then he proceeded to beat two of the best Fei’s in the world 3-0.
I have my own thoughts from watching the matches, but I haven’t done a proper analysis and I don’t main either character.
Sako used Rose as a specific counter pick against Fei Long before. She definitely beats him but we don’t know how bad. Her backdash makes some of Fei’s OSes pretty worthless.
I can’t imagine this match up got any better if she got several buffs while Fei got several nerfs.
I would call the Rose-Fei matchup 6-4 in Rose’s favor. She’s one of the few characters who have normals good enough to not get shutdown by Fei, and coupled with her better mobility, insane backdash, and the fact she can lame him out decently I think tip the match in her favor.
I think Luffy is just too used to playing a good Fei (Starnab), while none of the Japanese really have much Rose experience at all, let alone someone on Luffy’s level.
When Fei was better and Rose was worse Starnab said that Louffy beat him about 7-3 consistently.

It’s a very sad day when I see people shouting “NERF ROSE” forgetting that it’s mostly the players ignorance of the matchup and the great skills of Louffy that made that great win at Evo thsi year. The community is so childlike worshiping their tier-whoring heroes and when a stranger comes in with a mysterious matchup and beats them up they go berserk and ask for nerfs.
I’m not surprised DeeJay is so bad USF4 I remember one top player saying “We don’t want another Guile in the game !” and look at what Capcom did to Gen because of one players skill !
I think we had enough of SF4 patches…Next game Capcom please 
yeah i would have called it even or advantage fei in past versions even with luffy always beating mago. japan doesnt have a rose on his level, and europe at one point had the 3 best fei players not named mago or fuudo. so luffy was always more prepared for the match than any japanese fei could be.
dunno about now tho. the match exp still factors in but rose is really solid in ultra
but he beat those fei players consistently in europe even when they were posting up better overall results than Louffy was.
Whatever the circumstances were. Im not waking up today and thinking luffy is the best player in the world. In fact I probably wouldnt even rank him top 10 in the world. This was not the case with previous year Champions fuudo xian infiltration daigo.
I kept finding myself thinking while watching the the Evo top 8 that except for Zangief (Snake Eyez) that Luffy had high level experience against every character he faced AND/OR the matchup was kind of free. Then I found myself wondering if anyone, again with the exception of Snake Eyez, had anything resembling the equivalent experience against Rose. I’m guessing the answer to that second part is ‘no’. Not trying to discredit what Luffy accomplished but watching Luffy vs. Snake Eyez (3-2) and watching Luffy vs. everyone else (3-0 vs. Momochi; 3-0 vs. Gackt; 3-0 vs. Fuudo; 3-1/3-1 vs. Bonchan) it’s clear matchups matter in this game (duh) and it seemed, unless there’s some super Japanese or Singaporean Rose player that I’m unaware of (highly possible as I tend to be less aware of top players for characters that I don’t play), that no one but Snake Eyez had a really good idea of how to approach the matchup. For example it looked like, to me, that it took Bonchan most of the first set to figure out when (meter-wise) and where (spacing) he could throw fireballs. That’s kind of important.
Enough of the nerfs? Yes. A thousand times yes. Enough of the buffs? Probably not. Too many crap characters. Enough patches? Definitely not as there are, right now, just too many things in the games nuts and bolts that just don’t work properly to be left as is (see also: @Eternal for more details).
He was probably a flat better player than the rest of them. Fei was a much better character than rose up until now. Better results isn’t suprising
yeah i’m just saying the match has been in her favor for awhile, and now it’s better than ever
It’s been clear from about the very first week that this is now a counter-pick game, which is not good because many of the bad matchups in this game now don’t really center around offense, they revolve around some characters just not having any answer to certain defensive strategies.
Neo was one of Massachusetts’ best players. He moved to South Korea and was in the middle of a fairly successful singing career the last I heard of him.

been thinking more about what ves always says about matches in sf4 being worse than they get rated, or how a 6-4 in this game can feel unwinnable.
its all true. people like to rate everything so conservatively because of the low damage i think. it just isnt as in your face that you really have no chance against the character youre fighting. you get whittled away slowly, but really unless the other guy fucks up, what are you going to do?
like look at that fei vs gief match. its probably rated as close to even, or no worse than 6-4. but really what is snake eyes going to do if he gets severely bodied on the ground like that. he has to hope fei doesnt AA? maybe get lucky with an ultra? match is 6-4 but you can win if you get lucky…
