Waiting for Capcom to come out and say, now that Sagat is a weak character we buffed his jump in jab 20 damage and made his Tiger Shot more orange to represent Tigers.

Honda’s is somewhat useful. We’ve also been seeing Justin using more j.lp setups with rufus over the course of this year. Most chars can use jump jabs/shorts for tickthrows/frame traps
Jump jab is very strong for my characters.
For Blanka - Can fake crossup on fat characters in the corner, and can be mixed up with other buttons for different results in these situations. This lets him keep corner control. I also use it on some safejumps to mixup blockstun timing for frametraps. It’s also his best jumpin for high profiling projectiles, and is the manliest instant overhead in the entire game as biting someone’s neck is awesome even though it’s pointless as you can always do a more damaging instant overhead in these situations.
For Decapre - Instant overhead in conjunction with u1 allows for combos out of the u1, and it’s not reactable like her command overhead is. Can mixup blockstun between this and her heavy buttons for more frametrap/throw options. Also her best air to air when close to the opponent as it is 4f startup with a good hitbox.
Decapre is really strong. Easily top 10. So many tools and good normals. May be on part with Cammy actually. I expect to see her alot next week for EVO.
Cody when he expects his jump in to be blocked will often use FJ LP for the tic throw setup. Very common after a back throw to mix between FJ LP, FJ HK, and empty jump. Also his jumping jab with knife not only has the farthest reach but has the most active frames and the best hitbox of all of his jumping normals with the knife.

Would have to disagree, she’s decent and my call for the best new character but top 10? I can’t see it. The thing with Decapre is that all I keep coming up with = Why would you play her over Cammy?
this. Chun can use j.jab for fake cross up in the corner too. Other thing about j.lights in general are that sometimes are the only cross up (ie. j.lk from decapre) and the fact that j.jabs in general have quite good actives makes them good for timing thight deep safe jumps and the lower blockstun can be used to mess with tech timing… or could get you killed due mashed reversals lol
Cammy has top tier walk speed and normals, Decapre has the best normals other than cl.hp, but also has some unique normals that make her footsies better.
You have to look at her unique tools, if she was just “worse charge cammy” her tools wouldn’t actually be better than cammy’s are in that matchup.
She has top tier ultras, more damage than cammy, can convert to hard knockdown whenever she wants without really sacrificing damage, and most importantly she has more air attack angles than any character in the game. Cammy has 4 divekicks? PSH DECAPRE HAS 8+air spirals.
Oh and she builds pretty much more meter than any other character in the game. She has amazing on block/hit meter build, and can build meter fullscreen incredibly easily. Try to punish that with a fireball? nah i’ll just dp under your plasma, and keep whiffing mp dp.
To be fair, even if Cammy is better that still leaves us needing 9 more characters we can swear are better than Decapre to exclude her from top 10. Yun is clearly better, and the Cammy comparison is so simplified that we can probably call it that Cammy is better. So we need eight more characters we can say with confidence are clearly better than Decapre.
For every other character though I think it is too early to say that they are without question better, and Decapre is clearly pretty damn good at a minimum. I think the top 10 conversation is still going to be a pretty legit topic for her for a while.
I also find Decapre to be more fun which is pretty important.
once again, daigo is amazing, but his character predictions are always sketchy. he knows what he can win with, but i wouldnt put too much weight on his predictions outside of that

Sakura has THE HEISMAN for her jump jab which even beats things like Abel’s god fist j.hp. I cannot recall an instance of using it that I didn’t at least trade.

go back and look at the characters who he said couldnt be competitive when ver2012 dropped. he’s the best on the planet, but that doesnt mean his predicitions are accurate for shit.
