I don’t think it’s that bad. I think it’s more of an experience thing. When i was at Absolute Battle in Dallas, I played Coco Banana Man and another Hakan player for a lot of sets. It’s not unwinnable, but i do think you have to run away really well and manage his oil time. Like when Hakan’s unoiled Rog has more freedom to control the match, but when he has oil. Rog doesn’t have any safe buttons. Trying to land a throw (or get a throw teched) I feel is the safest way to eat up his oil time …

R looked really bad tbh, but EBI is simply really good. Still a bit surprised that EBI won.

I honestly don’t get why nobody is freaking out about hakan. Everyone agrees that he is OP in oiled form, and they are straight buffing his non oiled state with a list that rivals other chars whole change list with not a single nerf in sight. DWU will only help his game. Since his tick and reset game is out of this world (bar Seth) and he gets bullied being knocked down. There’s so many things I feel like I can go on and on about, and only a couple characters can handle him once someone blasts into the world stage as a dedicated Hakan.

When the meta fully develops for Ultra, it will be Ultra Hakan Fighter IV: Lube Your Asshole Edition.

You play the wrong character, AmigoOne. Also afaik only one buff is to the unoiled state, the SPD buff.

so all the normal changes are only to oiled state? That’s odd, I thought I read somewhere that they were trying to close the gap between unoiled and oiled state, and just assumed that they were to unoiled state.

Meh, I’d still stand behind some of my thoughts on Hakan though. Maybe he won’t be crazy as I thought he would be since I misread the changelog. Still surprised the character just always gets brushed off though.

Let´s say, while the last 2 changes are only to the unoiled state, the other changes are to both states. Oiled and unoiled share the framedata for the moves, but the moves can act different in both states.

He will be less vulnerable imo, DWU and W-Ultra will also help him a lot.
