Believe me, if a game like Starcraft failed at creating a PPV system ( look at MLG SC2 Arenas ), we won’t do it.
infiltration is very good. But he’s been highly overrated because he took a few sets of Daigo with stuff like guessing correct on jump ins,focusing and demons. He’s good at figuring out the right gimmicks to take a few games quickly which is why he does well in the American tournament setting.
it’s rare for Daigo’s Japanese opponents to get mauled the way Infiltration did. He’s good. Just not as good as most Americans thought. the second his methodical counters against daigo stopped working, he panicked and didnt even make an attempt to counter his footsie or neutral game.
People rated Infiltration that highly because outside of Japan there’s this impression that Daigo is unbeatable and if you can beat him you’re the best in the world. This is rubbish. Buttloads of Japanese players can beat him from time to time… even go on streaks against him. They just end up having a losing record over time… coz he’s a notch above.
TLDR: People are stupid. They don’t understand how to judge how good a player is. Infiltration was massively overrated. He’s very good… but until you see him play long sets against Japan’s best on setups which aren’t laggy it’s way too early to even call him great… unless you’re also calling like the other top 30 or so players great.
its unfortunate that genuinely good players like sako dont get recognized for how good they are.

Infiltration is fucking terrifying to play against, and he’s consistently done well vs. top talent. IT’S ONE SET. There is no reason to downgrade him as a player because he lost it.
I think you’ve completely misunderstood, i dont have a problem with infiltration winning or losing that set, but i definitely had a problem with the way he played.the thing is, infiltration’s style is pretty weird, perhaps calling it a gimmick would be harsh but he breaks his opponent down in a certain way and against daigo for example, deploys a very specific set of strategies to get the advantage. but the downside is, once it gets broken, like it did today, theres really nothing he could do, he didnt even try to match daigo at crmk distance nor in the neutral game. if you consider players like bonchan or momochi who play pure street fighter, a set against daigo would never be lope sided in either way(unless the matchup is bad). but a set like this is more like a puzzle with a race to see who can crack the code. honestly this infiltration daigo thing is just made up american hype, unfortunately the genuinely good players who should be more recognized for what they’re capable of will never be recognized and thats a shame.
It was one first to ten set. Infiltration is still an amazing player. Calm down.

If foreign players even care to be recognized they should travel and enter tournaments. Infiltration has been doing the world warrior circuit for the last year and a half. His successes don’t take away from other players, it just means he’s better at getting himself out there. Sako wouldn’t automatically be more famous if Infiltration had just parked his ass in korea over the last 2 years.
I watched your set against Momochi…he blew you up. The difference is Momochi (and many other Japanese players) “let you play”, while Infiltration probably didn’t. Just because you feel like you can do something vs. some players, doesn’t mean you are doing better than against players that don’t let you.
This Infiltration vs. Daigo set was a blowup, surprised people are flocking to Infiltration’s defense so much but were calling people Daigo/Japan dickriders when Daigo lost.
I didn’t know blowups involved every round having the winning player having under 1/3rd their health and me not winning g1 because I dropped a combo.
You’re not japanese so you get blown up automatically.

I don’t get why Infil didn’t go for a SINGLE DF throw against Daigo that set. I mean Daigos’ defense was spot on and he couldn’t open him up a lot. Daigo just killed him with footsies and better ground game overall. At least if he got a few DF throws off it would be more of a guessing game than dive kicks that he blocked every single time.
Of course Emil never likes to argue with facts, clearly you were in Momochi’s head when he was playing against Veserius.

Hey man, it’s Emil logic. When Infiltration beat Daigo at Evo and then again at 25th anniversary tourney, Daigo was still better. When Daigo beat Infiltration at TGS, DAIGO IS STILL BETTER.
