The netcode stability now is fine, games don’t freeze up on me anymore and they hadn’t been since the first beta.
The real issue I have at the moment, and it’s only when I’m on USFIV. “You have been disconnected from Steam” mid-match. SO. MANY. FUCKING. TIMES. DO YOU EVEN UNDERSTAND THE MEANING OF SALT? I HAVE JUST DROPPED FROM 2400PP TO 1200PP WITHIN 2 HOURS BECAUSE OF STEAM DISCONNECTING.
“Oh, but Froztey…why wouldn’t you just stop playing when it disconnected you more than on-” SHUT THE FUCK UP RANDOM ADVICE MAN.
Bullshit. I am salt incarnate right now. It’s even worse when you’re a round up and it happens. This isn’t even to do with netcode, I’m just mad and need somewhere to display my frustrations. Fuck online. Fuck it hard in it’s stupid face. FUCK.
Finished. I’ll go play fucking Viva Piñata or something. I’m a filthy casual. Looking at my PP right now makes me mad as hell, it’s gonna take forever to get it back up to 2000 alone, I never find anybody with enough points to earn 100+ in a single match. Anybody else have this disconnecting issue or am I just an unlucky fellow?
Same with me, constantly disconnected from steam now, like if I go to training room for any amount of time, I have to quit the game and start over before going to endless or ranked. If I don’t, it like freezes up as I try to join someone’s lobby, just a grey screen until whoever I’ve joined gets fed up and leaves (they are experiencing the same grey screen I think). Shortly after it will say I’ve been disconnected from steam. Quitting sf4 and steam and restarting, it will usually work at first but then disconnect me mid match at least once, sometimes over and over again.
That sucks and all… and yes Steam is annoying on that, but you should just start going for Endless if this gets too much on you. There’s a lot more you can learn in playstyles just by going to endless instead of just ranked. The only benefit ranked teaches you is sprint-like matches where you only have one game to play and apply in a short-time what you know to use. Then again, you can always be that “one dude” who kicks someone after one match.
Would anyone recommend getting a digital upgrade from AE to USF IV? I live in SE Asia and on AE I can’t find any games and if I do they’re either from Europe or the US and it’s really laggy. would upgrading give me more options in opposition? I live in South East Asia (Philippines) just to be clear.
Edit: Nevermind. Already got it. not many players from my region. Though there are some hong kongers and malaysians that play.
From a post above: “Looking at my PP right now makes me mad as hell”
People are STILL worried about Pride Points!?
Seriously guys and gals you’ve gotta reach a point where winning or losing just doesn’t bother you anymore.
Unless you’ve been undefeated since 2009…
Learn more characters and have fun! In the past year I’ve started learning E. Ryu, Cammy, Sakura, dabbled with Rose and fooled around with Poison - Did my points reflect this process? Yes.
How many tears were shed? None
Chun can get back to 2800-3200 easily, but my other characters aren’t getting any better that way.
played for a little over an hour. it’s much better. had some lag in maybe like 3 matches but the rest were really good. this was all ranked btw. got R. Kelly’d by a Seth player who had 16000 BP!
So I’ve been hating on the Steam version of this game for a very long time. However, I am now happy to report that after the beta fixes, it is now much much better. It seems to be on par with the 360 version now.
Probably just you if you’re literally lagging all the time. I’ve been playing nothing but ranked and it’s been pretty flawless for 95% of the time and minor hiccups otherwise. Might not be your fault but it’s definitely something on your end. Doesn’t even have to be network-related. If you get stuttering or frame drops from low performance that will lag the match for both players because of the genius way this game was programmed. Might want to check your benchmark results again. If you’re not getting comfortably over 80 FPS when uncapped you are susceptible to dropping below 60 when you go online because it’s more taxing. That’s just one example. A random background app can cause your game to stutter if it’s utilizing the CPU.
The online was “fixed” but at its base there are still issues where if either PC fails to run the game in a completely stable way it will stutter.
If Shenmue and Art said the netcode was solid, then that’s how you know they fixed it. It’s been working fine for about a month now, they finally fixed it, too bad i’m on Dota 2 most of the time. I got the feeling King of parody would still be complaining about problems till this day, I think it’s about that time you moved to a relevant state like Socal. XD
