I really dig the makeup work. I’ve always thought face work adds a lot to mods but never been good at it, myself.

FWIW, I think the font looks fine. The differences appear subtle/non-offensive, and even the lack of red halo doesn’t bother me at all, personally. Also, I like that you’re getting more ambitious with it as you learn more. :slight_smile:

If you want to give the halo thing a shot, you can check out mastasushi’s portrait tutorial (on the vanilla wiki), which has a similar-but-yellow halo behind the characters’ pictures.

I love the Makeup on/under Ibuki’s left eye on that mod. Quite like the purple and White bangs as well.

I swapped vanilles hair from your mod and wanted to put it on rose, but in game, the hair kind of bobbles on roses head, causing parts of roses head to pop in and out of the hair. i had to move the hair up in maya to have it reach roses head. could this be the issue?

@Nitsujare There’s no GUI yet. Think ill have it out this week. Also idk if you care but it’s really slow and may take anywhere from 2 min to an hour depending on the poly count of your SMD.

@seijuro475 Yeah when swapping objects between characters you obviously have to rescale/reposition the object if characters arent the same size or height. Also EMG swapping won’t always work. If the characters involved in the swap don’t have a matching skeleton bone index, the object won’t animate properly.

also, does anyone know why i cant inject an obj back inside an emg if it has multiple parts? if i extract it, and inject it back right away it works. but if i open it up in maya, save it then try injecting it, gives me the triangles edition error even though i didnt change anything. i could delete all the parts and leave just the first one listed for that section, and it allows me to inject it back, just doesnt do that for the parts after or if i try injecting the whole thing back.

Thanks to your tip, here’s the result of some hours of work. Those are from 3 of the stages already shown in previous WIP updates :

I think this will defenitily do it :). The pictures editing is quick and easy (3 of them, small-medium-big), but the text editing is more tedious and time consuming. As for the name of the stages, and their choice in regard of the vanilla ones, I’m trying to stay as close as possible to the stage music… the thing being, I totally “SSF2 HD Remixed” my stages’ music :p. Some choices were obvious, some not really. For exemple, “Secret Base” music is Vega’s music, so I thought that the futuristic looking stage (from GGXX) would be just fine. Russia was obviously Zangief’s music, so it became the famous Steelworks from SF2. As for the Volcanic Rim becoming a cemetary, as strange as it may seem, it’s pretty logical for me. Some weeks ago, I chose Akuma’s music for the stage, and, for me, the Atmosphere from this cemetery suits Akuma/Oni/Evil Ryu well. As for the location names, I’m probably going to change every one of them. Oceania becoming Japan bugs me because of the world map showing Oceania (and of the annoying announcer), but I guess “perfection” won’t be possible here :p.

Last but not least, here’s a preview at Guile’s Stage !

edit : when the mod’s done, I’ll write in the readme what music goes with what stage, so that you don’t have to guess if you want to get to HD Remix music. Oh, and while I’m at it, I’m also using Jay Vasquez 77’s ENG to JPN Boss name mod, and since I need to edit some of his files, I won’t be editing the vanilla ones (at least not soon). So you might want to use his mod too…

mugenlove100 made a Ryu -> Ken the Eagle mod for vanilla that turned out nicely. I don’t think I ever got a link for the latest version, which had a properly transparent visor and some other touches, but you might check it out on the vanilla wiki or his deviantart page.

Guy true shinobi from Final Fight Streetwise
Playing SSFIV in story mode,I have seen many characters mocked Guy about his ninja costume so I decide to make his ninja costume in final fight streetwise.Learning lessons about Swapping object from Sensibeat,I have combined all of his costume into one(head and shirt from costume 1,glove and sword from second costume and pant and other sword from third costume).Suprisingly,he looked just like in the game(and a true shinobi too).Too bad the game is too old so I don’t have image about his costume in FFSW.

i managed to fix the bobbing. i noticed the hair move everytime she blinked, so i exported it out and used your tool to assign it to the head joint and that got the job done. my mod is just about done, but ive encountered 1 problem. some how, in roses first ultra, her scarf is not there, the opponent just gets magically grabbed. she has the scarf with her at all times, and during the ultra its just around her. do you have any idea what i could have messed up?

EDIT: problem solved, just redid the whole emg swap with the untouched model and it worked. must have messed something up the first time doing it.

I assure you that I have no specific skills whatsoever. Just using the SF4 Assets explorer, some tutorials, Gimp, and some brain matter^^. I might write a guide to what I’m doing after the mod is done, but it depends on how long this mod takes me (putting quite a lot of “real” work aside recently, not to mention SF4 play) … But as I said earlier, the important thing here is to look at already made stages, like Ryu Classic’s one, and think backwards.

As for the music part, well, the thing is I don’t have all the stages done/found yet (plus missing some permission to use the art I found…for now), so it’s hard to decide precisely what becomes what. Guile or Vega’s stages where obvious choises for me, but I have a bunch of stages not so easy to attribute to a character. For exemple, I made a Makoto’s Zen Garden stage (from SF3 based art), and chose to replace Overpass by it, with HDR Sakura’s music. The result is a bit awkward I must say, but it will do for the moment. As long as everything is not planned, I’ll try not to be too perfectionist, or I’ll never finish this mod :p.

By the way, got rid of the annonying announcing of stages :).

Well, since I talked about it, here’s a preview of Makoto’s Zen Garden Stage. This one was quite a challenge for my skills, since I had to edit the floor texture “by hand” (nothing great here, but still…) :

Progress : 6/21 finished, approximatively 12/21 usable but lacking one thing or an another, and 3/21 not found yet (22 stages minus the Training Stage).

That garden stage looks nice. Remember: you can always release a v1, v2, etc. as you add more to it.
