USF4 | PC Custom Skin Thread

have another question. I am trying to replace the VS. screen musc (where it shows the two characters who are about to fight and the location) with that of 3rd strike. So far I managed to put it in game, but it’s EXTREMELY quiet. Is there anyway to disable the other sound effects that play on the screen? Or where they are located, so I can replace them?

Here is my next stage with reduced models. Not so crowded downtown.

You can get the file here:
Filefront

Thanks for the tip Piuma made my modding of the stage much faster.

Hey everyone!

Been awhile it seems. Anyways, so I hate (am sick of) the default intro for the game. So I’ve set it up to play the Evo 2k11 teaser video:

Of course I cut out the credits and opening Daigo 2k10 scene as it didn’t fit right with those in there, but all credit for the video itself goes out to those who made it possible as it IS a great video. I don’t know what the difference is between the _r and the _tm in the originals so I overwrote them both.

On a side, anyone have a hi-res of Makoto?

anyone ever figure this out - how to delete the initial ads like scaleform and junk?
they are in this folder - but deleting or renaming doesnt allow game to start
C:\Program Files\CAPCOM\Super Street Fighter IV\resource\ui\advertise\logo

Does anyone know where the extra effect files are? i saw the cross hatching file but cant find the others. I wanted to see if it was possible to replace one of those files with the cross hatching one so all colours would have the effect instead of just the first one. Thanks

Hey since it’s PC modding… why does Makoto and Ibuki still have “shorts” action under them skirts?

Let’s get some panty action in here :slight_smile:

PANTSUUUUUUUUUUU~

I would very much like to… in fact, If someone’d edit the normal files for me to remove the shortsy texture, and make a more leggy texture, I’d be more than happy to make panties for Makoto at least. I tried editing normal files with no luck… I was horrible at it ^_^;

T.hawk Night Wolf
My first mod for T.Hawk.Yeah I think T.Hawk is suitable to be Night Wolf
Inferno Seth and Flesh Oni costume pack are W.I.P(not include in this archive) but I’ll release it soon(There are some minor graphic glitch)
Hope you like it

I can’t edit worth crap. But I’m sure someone is gonna get a sparked interest to make those panties again. Haha, like those striped Japanese ones.

ROFL @ Nightwolf. That’s just awesome.

LOVE that nightwolf edit… so simple but efective. I also love when homage costumes work even if you dont know where its from, that could simply be just another Hawk color scheme

@Sorwah
nice intro! If you want to make high-res files for Makoto, I wrotea tutorial for it that’s super-simple.

@SayHelloRosco
Can you just increase the gain on the Third Strike song before converting it to AE format?

@monkeygigabuster92 and KtWdA
If specularity is causing you problems, you can try Kraga Phan’s specularity cloning trick.

Anyone thought of doing a mod that restylises the whole cast to make every character’s facial features and proportions less anime/cartoon and more realistic, and with higher resolution textures on the skin and hair etc? Nothing else, just that? It would probably be the closest we’ll get to human-looking street fighter characters before TekkenXStreet Fighter is released (if the preliminary renderings of that game are anything to go by).

Since it is a large task maybe it could be a collaborative effort.

There’s a big difference between anime style and cartoon style, and SF4 characters are generally the latter. I can’t see anything wrong with the facial features, but I wouldn’t mind seeing a mod that gives all the characters smaller hands; those hands definitely aren’t human-looking. Such a mod wouldn’t take much skill but would be a little tedious to make.

Most of the male characters are also a bit too Schwarzenegger-esque for my liking, but that’s a subjective matter.

Yea really, would be great if there was a complete, slimmer, “non roids” pc pack for the male chars lol

Personally think it wouldn’t be until someone actually started such a project, that they would realise just how extensive the reworking would need to be. All of the proportions and art conventions in the game are pushed to varying extents, some very extreme (muscularity, limb lengths, hilarious sized fists and feet are just a few of the more easily noticed parts). Once you started to adjust some of them, dozens of others would suddenly become more obvious. Personally I adore the all round art style, but I think this would still remain true if I hated it.

You’d be looking at a total rebuild of every mesh and texture from the ground up imo.

Yea thats a pipe dream, but the idea is nice to entertain anyway.

WIP of mine: T. Hawk as Hugo.

Who can modify the boots so they are plain (without the straps on top) + the hair so it’s longer and thicker + add a chain to his pants? I can upload i if someone likes to make him more Hugo! :slight_smile: Need to tweak the texture a bit though (especially the top).

I’m too lazy to go back through the thread but I’ve already seen some mods in it that make the skin textures more realistic, and one one mod of Ken looked almost like a real person (but it might just be that particular capture?).

Dunno if that’s a good idea. First, the shader used in SF4 isn’t built for realistic renders - rather it goes for a more painterly/inked feel. Second, I think shrinking different body parts too much may end up in weird looking animations and distorted body parts because the underlying animating skeleton is still the same size. I don’t think there’s a way to edit bone sizes of the skeleton yet. Although it may be possible to go for more traditional body proportions like MvsC3.

Based on his response he’s just looking for realistic textures.
