I have a question for all of you skin designers. Do you all have a back ground in 3d modeling or computer illustration?There seems to be alot of technical knowledge and I would like to try my hand at making custom skins but I am not sure of what programs to use or where to even begin. So if there are any of you skinners out there who can give a brother a few tips to get me going it would be much appreciated. Thanks
There are at least some pro/semi-pros around, but most are just amateurs.
Head over to the wiki and check out the general and AE-specific tutorials. You can start with the updated skinning thread and the beginner’s guide to model editing, which will get you started with basic skinning, then move on to sensibeat’s col-based transparency tutorial and alekqz’s material swap tutorial to get started with hex-editing. From there, you can read over sensibeat’s model swapping tutorials (to learn about how the system actually works) and then hit up the intermediate guide to model swapping to learn how to use sloth86’s EMGSwap tool (which automates the hex stuff sensibeat covered).
Is it possible to replace alternative costumes with mods? I like my original ibuki costume but I would like that awesome mod and replace alternative 1 if I can.

Sure can. Just rename all of the IBK_01 files in that mod to IBK_02 and overwrite the old Alt1 files. In fact, you’ll probably want to copy and rename all of her original IBK_01 files (IBK_01.nml.emb, etc.) while you’re at it, just to make sure none of the Alt1 stuff causes a conflict.
I was wondering what is bad about quoting images? I dont do it since told not to, but its just a ref to another site, its not like it sucks bandwidth or anything

Since Etenal complained it,i decided to update with minor change
update the shirt (yay you must recognise it first) but I let it unbutton
fix the hat(no more skull but still keep the wing to look like bee)
