URIEN Options vs Cornered Opponent that do not START with Aegis

Post knockdown in the corner (most likely a throw, but could be from lp headbutt, etc), here are some notable options. Please take note that option #1 and #2 (and option #6) lead into the biggest combos because they involve aegis extending your combo and give you the possibility of c.hp into corner juggle. i wanted to emphasize the first two options.
[]**LOW HIT: forward dash them into corner (while dash partitioning), c.lkxx lktackle -> LP aegis -> big combo. **the c.lkxxtackle portion of this works midscreen too. note that the dash partitioning forward dash is optional sometimes depending on how far you are from the corner, but the dash really is to push them way into the corner so the LP aegis combos. also take note that this is the only low hit option that would lead into a fatty combo (your other option really is just a sweep i guess)

[
]here he tried to do it midscreen so it was more like a tactic to get twelve to the corner.

[
]here it’s also done midscreen so it’s also kind of a tactic to get opponent to corner, imho

[]**HIGH HIT: universal overhead -> EX aegis -> big combo. **note that like the option above, a forward dash is needed depending on how close they are to the corner

[]HIGH HIT: walk forward and back outside of throw range to bait throw, and st.hk. this works midscreen too.

[]HIGH HIT: walk forward into them to bait a throw, and then jump back hk (doesn’t work on all characters i think)

[]Meaty throw
[
]RX Meaty Metallic Sphere into MP/HP Aegis Followed up by 50/50 High or Low
[]NOTE: In terms of leading into a big corner aegis combo, you should note there is also RX’s 50/50 involving a MEATY metallic sphere and MP or HP aegis depending on distance to the corner.
[
]However because you’re releasing an aegis pre-emptively (“starting with aegis”) i didn’t want to focus on this here. anyways, here are some examples.
[]it’s a 50/50 because after they block or parry the metallic sphere as a meaty you can either forward+hp or c.hk them (not totally sure about this… haven’t found a good example of the c.hk).
[
]if done at a proper distance from the corner it leads into a corner c.hp into corner combo if you land f+hp, or a funky juggling kinda combo if choose c.hk.

NOTE that one major advantage of this setup is that you can be farther away from the corner and still have a chance to do c.hp in the corner - take a look at the distance is RX is from the corner when he does this setup
EXAMPLES: Note that # of dashes he does changes depending on how the knockdown is achieved. Also note all of these require the enemy to quick get up for the sphere to be meaty
I hope this list helps.

now that this is out there, i’m really inconsistent on the universal overhead -> ex aegis in the corner combo. i got it several times but i was wondering if anyone has any tips on getting it consistently?

and of course if you have anything to add to the list go ahead.

This was really helpful in terms of setups after hitting people with midscreen headbutts and tackles. Will be putting these setups to use.

As a high option there are also:

 • Dash in meaty stMP (works on every character but Chun Li) xx Partitioned MK tackle xx LP aegis > whatever

 • meaty UOH into cLp xx Tackle xx aegis. Requires partition and a meaty setup so it’s hard to implement but it’s very good

not that anyone reads anything on here anymore, but:

regarding #1, or any partition setup that involves something xx tackle, i think i found a trick to cover up any botched partitioned tackle. say you do a dash partition cr.LK xx LK tackle xx LP aegis, and you screw up the tackle (by not having the full charge). what i usually get is just LK tackle, then LP reflector, which fails to push the opponent back much and also might leave you open to random jabs and stuff.

the way i usually execute the above (starting from the cr. LK, after i’ve charged) is: D+LK, DF, F+LK, QCF+LP. if you instead replace the LK for the tackle with LP+LK, then if you do not have the charge for the tackle, you’ll cancel the cr. LK into LP sphere instead; additionally, if you do have the charge, you will only get the tackle! i’ve only tested it with the aforementioned setup, but i think this kind of thing should also work with s.MP xx any tackle xx any aegis, i.e. if you wanted to do s.MP xx MK tackle xx LP aegis you could do B+MP, DB, D, DF, F+LP+MK, QCF+LP.

sorry if this was common knowledge
