one trick i like to do is to partition with a s.mk, then dash forward and pull out the s.jab>s.strong>shoulder.xx.aegis and so on from there.
partitioning with the s.mk, dash, s.jab and s.strong animations hides the charge for the shoulder perfectly. the combo is hard to see coming because it doesnt look like ur charging at all. urien doesn’t crouch or walk backwards whilst doing it, all thats required is the whiffed s.mk
i guess it works well for me because i tend to dash-in and throw alot. its a good move you can pull out if they think that you’re about to throw them, because they’ll stand up and try to tech the throw
If you want really good footsies, watch pierre play. Silver Urien from japan and he has footsies that are nuts. He can win with just footsies some times.
Also I have found that if you can store charges well then the headbutt and standing mp into headbutt really can fuck people, esp it they parry the standing mp and you go right into ex headbutt
Headbutt goes over lots of low attacks and the lp one is good to get out of shoto tick throws and walk up lk lk walk forward throw, or whiff lp over your head throw.
I just thought that I would throw a little something in here in case it helps. I have found that aside from being a great offensive and defensive tool, standing FP is also great for setting up charge partitions. If you start holding back a split second after you tap FP, it’s just enough time to do a basic dash-up, headbutt/tackle. :wgrin: I think that I’ve found success with it because when you use cr. MK to start the partition people know you’re up to something when you dash right after it since you’re already crouching (charging). However, standing FP is a commonly used tool that people don’t really think about hiding things inside of, sort of like standing MP x2 only better. I think it’s still sort of easy to read a charge partition coming from standing MP x2. Feel free to correct me if anyone knows better. Like I said, this is just a tactic that seems to be working for me pretty well.
Well, even if you could there wouldn’t be much point. Unless you’re going to be chipped to death, you could just wait to parry her last kick, and then you have a huge window to counter attack, usually with an unblockable set up or corner trap. Either way, I’d just wait until the last hit of the super, again, unless you’re going to be chipped. Then, you’re still better off just going for the red parry.
