oh hey guys! whats up!? Well just wanted to say! I know Final Round is coming up and i’m probably not going to be able to make it. due to work, but it’s all good! I’ve just accepted it again… haha 5th year in a row i haven’t been able to go. Sucks! but oh well anyways! what im on here is for this!
I know Final Round is right around the corner and I know you people have already asked for days off and what not. But im thinking about holding a tournament April 2nd! I was thinking about March but nah… Final Round will break some of you and some wont be able to come cause of it. So i’m thinking about April 2nd to have another Tourney! but not just for MvC3 this time! I wana add two more games to my list! I was thinking super 4 and one other not sure yet though! So if any of you have any suggestions! Let me know! Thanks!
I think Doom definitely has tools to beat sentinel. Use his plasma beam from full screen preemptively to beat out sentinel’s mouth laser. Keeping Sentinel away with air photon shot and air plasma beam is of course great. Unfortunately, Your team’s assists dont really help out doom’s rushdown gameplay, he needs a beam assist to get in there and land some mixups and tricks on sentinel imo. He is definitely more of a rushdown character in this one compared to mvc2. He still has his great keepaway tools, but in order to beat sentinel with Doom, you need to land his airdash B overheads and cross ups that lead to big damage combos. You need an assist that holds sentinel in place like beams so you can wavedash in and do his square jump or tri jump mixups. If you dont have the right assist to cover your rushdown he will just standing S that shit outta there. Of course these are all just my opinions, so think outside the box with your favorite team and find out how you can work your assists to help out doom, or just save doom for last because his lvl 3 x-factor speed is amazing and can actually rush down sentinel which is usually last as well. Not sure what assist you use for hulk, but maybe after blocking standing S from sentinel, call out hulk to pin him down for just enough time to wave dash in with mixups. thanks keith i appreciate it, i agree with what you said. while i like my team they just dont have as good of tools to beat sent as some others would. i am still finding tricks with instant overheads and others that seem hurt him bad.
i was messing around with training mode today and found several things with alot of characters that beat his ass.
Dante= 214a,h will punish a blocked cr mk or blocked launcher from sent, it will also beat his cr mk and launcher clean.
Trish= free launcher on a blocked cr mk or blocked launcher from sent.
deadpool= cr h to laucher on blocked or wiffed launcher from sent.
i sure there are alot more with other characters i just need to level up my game and stop being scrubby.
speaking of instant overheads i completely forgot to mention that with doom you can do instant overhead jumping b cancelled into forward+C, airdash forward B land into ground combo into launch into his relaunch combo for big damage! Also you can just do his forward+C in the air to get over to him and cancel it into airdash B for nice pressure or a combo! the jump forward+C is a great way to get around crouching B if you predict he is going to do it!
while i really dont mind sent as a character watching the stream at GVN was a little crazy. While he fits in every team well it seams like everyone is just hoping for an easy sent win. Justin Wong seams to be the only one with imagination that is proving that teams dont have to have him.
I know the game is new but I really hope final round is better with diversity. not complaining i just want to see some teams that make me say WOW i had no idea it was that good(like justin did with Trons assist.)

Quick question too does anyone know if the hotel rooms at final round have a tv with an HDMI input or do we need to bring tvs as well?
I havent played SSF4 since forever haha. No point to play it outside of tournament now imo it’s just so boring compared to the fast and crazy marvel. Sentinel is just a great character and most people pick him cause they either liked him in mvc2, cause of his great assist, or they’re just trying to win. He is easy to learn and a great character to have on your team in the first month of the game to get wins until you have time to experiment more with other characters.
yea i know and i like the character i just am impatient right now because i want to see more variations of teams. I think once the game is out a while we will see this but right now it is two characters and sent on 90% of teams. I do think he will always be on a heavy amount because his assist is just too damn good, but i really want to see more.

I think you pretty much named all the good lockdown assists. Every char has atleast one good assist, Trish has trick peekaboo which is really great i’m starting to like her a lot. Spider man web ball is not too bad either. Not sure what other “lockdown” assists there are outside of the characters you named.
kinda thought so, trish is going to be one of the tops when it is all said and done. she is so versatile, good in the air good dhcs, girl has everything.
i called the airport hilton and the guy said they updated their tv’s a few months ago so most rooms have flat screens(i don’t know if he was talking out of his ass or what) but i’ll be bringing my monitor+360(yes i know it’s run on ps3) for some practice. also, phil, shoot me your number via pm plz, i keep forgetting to ask you and jordan when we’re online playing.
good games Vex on SSF4 last night, it was nice to put something in my xbox other than marvel for once.
One thing about Marvel i love is it seems to make your Reflexes faster so when we where playing SSF4 last night it seemed almost in slow motion. Makes reacting to shit much much easier.
