2 converters? U not using the Madcatz no more?

SF4 broke? Now lets be serious here, though it may become so one day, it is far from broke. As of now its is by far the most balanced modern 2d tourney game ever to be produced right next to Guilty Gear and it has no glitches yet that distort mess up tiers or the game play and a system that works fairly equal for almost all characters.

As for your Evo game argument, CvS2 had roll cancel which changed the game and ruined it (even though I mastered roll cancel myself). The balance of the game completely shifted and harsh tiers were created and limited people to 3 grooves(C,A, and N). MvC2…well I dont think I have to explain mvc2 if you know anything about it and its tiers and glitches (even though I was on the games nuts for a while it’s still Incomplete and Broken )… 3rd strike, no matter how much people want to deny it, if you were any where a tourney legit person (This is one game that I could not do this in) it turned in to a 6 character game and that is me being friendly. We all know it’s really all about Chun, Ken, and Yun, this was even more true if you tourney play in America (Except maybe the west coast, Though I do know there top players mostly used those character.) If you were lucky you would see a makoto, urien, or dudely within the top or even if you were super duper duper lucky you would see an Akuma or Yang. Again I am being lenient we all know all three of those games, “Staples” of EVO, are far from balanced and diverse. They are (even in my opinion) Classics and Great Games, but as of now Super Turbo/HD, SF4, and GGXX2 remain balanced with all the cast being able to compete (I am not including console characters in my SF4 argument).

Also I am willing to play some tekken. There is nothing wrong with playing more than one game seriously.

Last argument, if you can’t land a good cross up and keep getting anti-air by the noob friendly auto-switch system then you have not learned the game yet. If you play super turbo seriously then you should know how to safe jump, that technique can be used in this game as well. Also don’t telegraph your jump-in/cross-ups (No one you play with is daigo psychic and if you jump in how your sopposed to you should not be getting anti air all the time). Not to diss your game but I had that problem with that at first too, I jump in frequently with bison and used to get AA all the time. Now almost no one hits me with anti air and I still jump in alot. I just switched up when I do it, this game is great because it rewards smarter play not just people who know how to do glitches and or insane techniques.

This gets me to my Real Final Argument of pretty balanced unbroke game.
Results will tell the truth.

ok wtf happened, I leave for 3 days and I come back to this shit?

SFIV sucks, I play it but it sucks. It is more balanced than 3s. 3s is much more fun.

I wish BR was here so I could just avoid all of this completely.

I knew you would appear any second as i read that monstrous post

I’m just sick of the same stupid ass arguments on both sides. They are ALL OVER THIS FORUM, WHY do we need them in here?

paul i think we should just buy the fuckin BR cab and be done with it haha

I think everyone uses arcade sticks now since then. Good games to you, too. If you fought more than one Ryu I was probably the bad one.

I wasnt there that day so it was you. Y are you assuming you were the bad one lol? he didnt say he scrubbed everyone. How is the job btw? You have been missing.

Well gee Nunie. I sure hope you come here and play more often. You seem to have a high opinion about yourself. You must be really good.

SF4 is more balanced than other games but IMO it’s still n00b friendly and broke in some cases (Sagat, Command Throws). Tiers don’t matter, balance really doesn’t matter in some games either. It’s all player skill. Fuck, Lingmassacre is one of the best Tekken players on the east coast and his character is considered pretty bad tier wise. Does that matter? No, he consistenly rapes people at tourneys with that annoying ass Xiaoyu. Those other fighters have been around for years and people still play them regardless if you think they’re incomplete. No fighter will ever be truly balanced. They’re still fucking fun to play. Marvel is the most broke game I’ve ever seen and that game still draw hundreds of players. So just because I think SF4 is ass, don’t feel obligated to defend it because you disagree. Maybe when you come here and beat us down we’ll see the errors of our ways and start loving the game. But I doubt it.

Please come to Albany and save us from ourselves since we’re all trash and can’t play SF4. Buffalo has some good Tekken players and I hope you learned a thing or two from them if you’re serious about playing it and cuz you’re so awesome.

Hey Paul are you and/or Vinny coming by tomorrow? I’d like for either of you to take a look inside my gutted Hori FS3 and see what I can do with it. Theres a wire not connected to one of the microswitches and I wanna know it it’s easily repairable.

Hey guys, dont forget I started this huge argument just to maintain peoples intrest in the game, nothing personal. As I said all the staples EVO games were great and classics just not great or complete products. If you dont like SF4 fine but like I said its not because it sucks it just because you dont perfer it. MvC2 is great and the better players wins but dont tell me tekken has tiers like mvc2 or cvs2 or SF3. I play (well not play but hangout) with the tekken crew all the time here so I would kind of know, maybe not as much as you, but I’ve heard enough from them to know the difference from a low tier in SF4 and Tekken and one in Marvel and SF3.

Sorry about the way I’m coming off, I dont ever talk down other players so please dont take me for that kind or person. I have a little bit of pride and take anything competively serious. I’m a skilled boxer, a dedicated student, and a hardcore SF4 player (It used to be Guilty Gear). I think the people that played me at play n trade that day can say that I am a pretty nice guy. I intoduced my self and played every one and had fun, I just get into my arguments and since I’m coming down there I really want to have as many people to play with.

No I’m not that great in reality but I can hold my own. When I came down there Only the vega player really gave me a match but still I never lost a match. At the end that doesn’t mean anything when I dont place past top 20 at big tournies. I got 2nd at this tourney the other day but It was 27 entrees at a anime Convention. I’m just trying to play the game and get good. Get Hype.

You guys should go to syracuse this weekend as they are having a tourney. Prolly small but it has tekken and SF4, thats fun for every one. Only 2 hours drive. Think about it.

Let get Bob Marley up in here…

One Love…Peace

Yeah, I’ll be there tomorrow. I’ll bring Vinny.

E1J1 vs. nunnie7 money match!!! Hype that shit up!

Jim talk to me about BR in a couple weeks.

Wow got a lil heated here for a min lol. Guess ima have to get some practice in since nunnie apparently destroyed all you guys in 4 a while back.

guess ill be seeing elon in a bit. Im on my way

I haven’t heard of many people saying it “sucks” that’s for sure. You’re entitled to your opinion, but I’ve generally been seeing alot of praise for SFIV all around. And Sagat isn’t what I would ever consider “broken”. His ST version was much more deserving of that definition if you ask me. And yes, I definitely like SFIV better than 3S for a number of reasons. And I fail to see how it’s more “noob friendly” than Super Turbo, or Tekken for that matter. I think alot of people have just started throwing that argument around just because SFIV isn’t as restrictive to new players as 3rd Strike. And I haven’t seen anything yet that’s convinced me that particular argument is valid.

I think you’re confusing me with Matt. I’m Anthony. I think Matt is Leetzeela. Nunie probably doesn’t remember playing me but I remember getting slammed pretty bad by a Bison player. I know I’m not very good yet but I’m confident that I can be. I don’t really have any of the games people play at Play N Trade at home other than Tekken 5 so I don’t get much practice. Even with Tekken 5 I didn’t really know how competetive play was handled so I’m pretty much new to that too. I played Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 way back when but everybody seems to hate that ( I can see why ). So any practice I get is at Play N Trade but I’d like to go toe to toe with everyone so I’m all ears if anyone has advice. :wgrin:

Where the hell am I right now?

I’d love to see people throwing money down, with the way I get everyone annoyed from my massive shit talking I’m pretty sure it would be film worthy.

Also enough with this stupid ass argument about the game itself, seriously find one of the 149,183,382 threads about it on this site and talk there.

I would love to do Money Matches when I get back, I usually lose them too so bet on. Even better lets hold a tourney some time in our area. I bet we could get a decent turn out. I wont be in town untill Mid May though. I am having my brother go tommorow so he can get familiar with you guys, you do play on wensdays, 6pm, at play n trade right? He was the taller one that played sakura he’s a lot less aggressive and annoying than me and more friendly so treat him nice if you see him. He’s not as good as me in at SF4 yet, but he’s got skills since we’ve been playing SF since way back and he’s been to a couple of tournies so he can always hold his own in pressue and all that. Hope ya’ll have fun tommorow.

Antaeus who did you play that day. All in all, every one looked like they could get good in the game. I will list what I remember.

Ryu player - You did pretty well, more zoning and working the fireball and J.HK game at a distance when your against a bison. The J.HK will stop devils reverse and head stops and the fire ball are annoying cause if you got the right distance where I can’t attack you with a jump in then I’m loseing my charge and allowing you space for your jump in if I try to jump to get closer. Cross-up are great on bison if timed at good moment, if I dont have the charge and I’m left with teleport, at worst you just wont hit me at best cross up combo that can lead into lost of things. Practice some combo after cross up. I dont really know good ones myself but when you get the cross up you want to ensure that damage. Oh yeah after a know down try if you want to keep pressure jump over me twice, it will kill my charge on wake up, dont do it all the time though.

Vega/Claw - Your really good dude. I just knew the match-up better. There are a couple of things you can do to help ensure some victories. After a knock down use I think its the moving foward HK which make him do that leap kick thing. Doing that over me after knock down ruins charges. I can be air thrown out of my devils reverse and headstomp. More Poking, I remember you giving me lots of room to move in on you, should happen with vega.

Sagat - Dont let me bait your Uppercuts, thats easy damage for the opponent. Be safe some times and just get up and block unless I’m jumping in which is a free uppercut. Zone/Bait more with tiger shots and have an uppercut or J. HK waiting to punish mistake. Master combos into ultra.

Geif - More green hands, they are awesome. Timed Lariets beat out anything I can throw at you, miss timed ones are free damage for me. Find out (cause IDK how) how to tick throw into his Pile driver from jump ins, green hand, ect…

Thats all the advice I got now. Reminder that I do not know any characters besides Bison and Akuma that well but I have played against them all so if you dont think some of it is accurate that is fine, but let me know so I can better my self too.

BlueFlamingo - you like to shit talk. So do I, at least in crowds. When I was in toronto playing there our crew kept each other hype by chanting U.S.A and singing the national anthem when we wont matches. I dont think they liked it much because as we got farther in to the bracket they starting chanting some canadian shit back. They were all mad cool though, Good Times…

Yeah I had a lot of fun back in the day playing at Funland in toronto… although in those days I wasn’t playing any fighting games. I just like yelling and having fun. I often like to drink. Sometimes, I will combine the 3 magic things together in public and it is memorable. I hardly take anything seriously, I like to see how far I can push people is all haha.

Looks we are getting some games in tonight I guess… I wonder if it will be sf or dead DR. …

I probably used Ryu. The moment I remember most in the match was crouch blocking in the corner and getting pummeled. I doubt I got a round on you.

There’s a couple Ryu players though I don’t know if that helps.

It must of been you, I only played one ryu that day. If you dont have the game…well that sucks but all is not lost. I know this kid Tony that plays in buff, he doesn’t have the game and is still top 5 in our crew here. He does go to people houses to play any chance that he has off from work and has even slept over my house to play when I’m at work or school or with my girl. You prolly dont have to do all of that but, just people as much as you can to get a real flow for the game. You’ll find that in SF you dont have to do fancy stuff to be good. That stuff comes later when your trying to get max damage for all your move ments or punish mistakes of opponent. SF fighter becomes really fun when you get a hang of it so keep at it. It’s like a chess match with Fireballs and Ultras.
